Re: September 2023 photos

Always enjoy Tahoe…..and great shot of those lenticular clouds in the second pic. 👍🏻 Yep...only people I know that know they are lenticular are pilots! I used to fly myself. Here is another nice one from my neighbor's deck...my R5 in foreground. 368327340_10229461550779872_8222109653449132263_n.jpg...

Re: 263 Boat Fire !!

Glad everyone is OK.

I would think the trailer would be in the 5-7K range, or half the cost of a new one.

Re: Pontoon for lifelong powerboater?

The good news is that I am seeing a lot more pontoons at dealer lots. That should help with pricing. I do see some Berkshires' but the most common upper-end toon we see at our lake is the Trifecta brand.

Re: Warranty Work- Candlewood East Marina

Hello everyone, I just bought a 2023 Cobalt CS22 in January to use this summer in MA. I bought it in Florida and drove it up to leave here year round. After this summer there is some warranty work that needs to be done. It is not time sensitive as we won't need the boat for months. Candlewood East ...

Re: 2012 242

. So glad you found us c883. The 242 is a solid performer. I’d prefer the 380 horse in her but the small block is sufficient. The rear side entry means the boat will list to port with a full load of passengers so trim tabs can help level her out. Others will chime in shortly. And welcome aboard mat...

Re: 8.1 Volvo GXI Down on Power

Bruce, you are correct about the coils being primary and secondary, vs high low. Anyone have info on aftermarket coils for the 8.1? I am sure the VP units are crazy dough, and being a GM engine, has to be a cross reference for a GM coil. I would stick with a marine VP one if that is the issue. Alth...

Re: 8.1 Volvo GXI Down on Power

New plugs fixed my similar issue. I could also feel a 'miss' while idling. You could throw some new plug wires at it, but you might want to have it scanned so you arent doing the parts cannon.

Re: Red Flags

We have noticed this as well. If we see a boat stopped (particularly a surf boat), I assume there is someone in the water nearby.

Re: VP 380 Oil TEMP

I'm surprised it is that high. My boat doesn't have an oil temp gauge, but for small airplanes with most Continental or Lycoming engines, you should not see over 230f even on a hot climb out. Slightly different engine though....

Re: August 2023 Photos

Lake Powell. We took the Cobalt up to Lake Powell. This year, we rented a houseboat and invited the kids and some of their friends. It was a lot of work. The boat ran great. The biggest issue was dragging our anchor(s) in the nightly windstorms. We have a large box anchor that I thought would hold t...
