Re: 240 BR Rebuild

Yessir it's a GXI. We're going out again today so I'll look at the props. The motor is strong, smooth and runs awesome. And even though I have a lot of time and work in it, I've only spent about half of what it's worth, so it'll definitely make money in the end. That's the whole reason why I started...

Re: 240 BR Rebuild

So I got her in the water and have run about 2 tanks of fuel through! The lake is actually in pretty good shape, especially on the other end down by the dam. I'm having a couple of issues to work out. I think my oil sending unit is bad. It shows 40 lbs of pressure, but when I throttle up it drops to...

Re: 240 BR Rebuild

That's funny stuff. You'll figure it out at some point Liquid, I'm sure! Our lake is big-time flooded, but I'm gonna give it a try this weekend anyway. This was the road getting in to our place this afternoon. Six inches deep on the high side, and creeping higher ever so slightly. As long as the rai...

Re: How far is your main lake? Do you trailer or slip?

Our lakehouse is two hours and 45 minutes, with a covered slip and lift. We used to go every weekend, and now at least twice a month, more if it works out.

Re: 240 BR Rebuild

Thanks! We're heading to our normal lake Wednesday to spend a loong Memorial weekend as long as the water continues to go down. When I do get this sucker on the water again I plan on burning at least 3 or 4 tanks of gas!

Re: 240 BR Rebuild

FINALLY! I got her in the water today. Nasty brown water but it was a lake nonetheless. I guess the flooding has the water all stirred up. The fuel pump worked great and I got about 4 break-in hours on the motor at various levels of rpm. Everyone said keep it at 2 to 3 thousand or below for the firs...

Re: 240 BR Rebuild

I got my new fuel pump and have it installed. It seemed like a good idea to go ahead and put on a new fuel pressure regulator and idle control motor so everything is fresh. The engine starts fine and purrs like a kitten, and my lake is flooded. Grrr

All dressed up and nowhere to go
