2021 VP 380 oil Weight

I see VP is now running their 10w-40, but previous 380 (6.0L) ran the 25w-40 oil. Anyone have thoughts on running the 25w in the newer 6.2L 380? With the load on the engine it seems like a good idea to run the 25w oil.

Re: 2021 Volvo 380 Oil Capacity and Specs

I found the sticker and pulled everything thing I need except confirmation of oil capacity. I’ll roll with 7.5qts.

Re: 2021 Volvo 380 Oil Capacity and Specs

I have the actual VP manual. It states 7.5qts. It does not give any part numbers for the filters, etc. nor does it indicate oil weight. I will check the sticker on the coolant expansion tank next time I am out to see what details it might display.

2021 Volvo 380 Oil Capacity and Specs

Am I missing something or does the manual just not cover the oil requirements that well? No oil weight. No filter part numbers. No oil capacity info. The only thing I see is it says the V8 has 7.5qts. I am not super comfortable with that little information.

Great choice. That Volvo 380 is an amazing engine and you won’t regret it.

Re: 2013 242 w/Volvo 380 power steering fluid leak

I had to replace the hose clamp which is a real pain going to the power steering cooler. So I'm saying that is where your leak is. On the back of your starboard head. The pwr str cooler is bolted to the back side of the head. Feel around the for it and check the clamps. They are just punch tight ty...

2013 242 w/Volvo 380 power steering fluid leak

I have already replaced the steering actuator but still have fluid in the bilge. I can’t find any leak around the pump itself. The trim tab pump is not the source. Any other places I need to look?

Re: Box Anchor

I have the small slide anchor for my 242 and it is awesome! It holds rock-solid in really windy conditions and multiple bottoms types. I don't use any chain, only 150' of good 1/2" anchor rope.

Re: Volvo 380-c-b 2013 Sea Water pump leaking

I replaced it this past weekend. It was simple and straight forward. One word of caution, the new version is a bit longer of a body than the original and it gave me pause that the steel arm bracket was going to be long enough, but it was just fine.
