Re: Prospective Cobalt Buyer - Looking for Advice

Well, I ended up purchasing a CS1 yesterday. I know it's a bit shorter than the 220, but I felt like most of that was in the bow. I can just about stretch out in the CS1, where I could fully extend my legs in the bow of the 220. Beyond that though, the cockpit just felt more spacious. I also like t...

Re: What upgrades have you done to your boat?

When I came up on this, I asked a guy on the dock if I'm seeing correctly, and he told me he saw the whole thing. The guy let his girlfriend back their wave runner down the ramp. Enough said there.... I guess he got out of the side window, but then he had a hard time getting her out because of the w...

Re: What upgrades have you done to your boat?

While checking out the location of the nearest boat ramp down here in Bonita Springs fl, I'm guessing this guy is looking to be doing some needed upgrades to his 15' Beemer and wave runner.

Re: Prospective Cobalt Buyer - Looking for Advice

With all due respect. If you do your due diligence on the dealer cost of a new boat, you will understand where I'm coming from. If not, the one or two year old cream puff will cost you more than a brand new boat. Most new boats sport a 35% to 40% mark up. Do the math. Dealers are charging more for o...

Re: Prospective Cobalt Buyer - Looking for Advice

I would get the bow filler cushions right away. We love ours. The girls will too. If they don't then you leave it out. It adds so much more room up there.get a transom speaker control also. Binimi not a big fan myself but hot sunny days it's nice to have. Resale Shaun nice to have. 90% of the time ...

Re: Prospective Cobalt Buyer - Looking for Advice

Don't let the factory MSRP be your comparison to whether you will save money by adding it yourself. If you are a decent negotiator, There isn't a great deal of price difference between factory installed and self installed without warranty coverage.

Re: Prospective Cobalt Buyer - Looking for Advice

I also think you may regret the smaller engine. Once you buy the boat, and then not happy with the power, you will be kicking yourself for not spending a few extra bucks for getting what you need to power a boat load of people. I'm probably the last person you want advice from. I think when you are ...

Re: Outboard resurgence.

So I'm back in Florida this week working on the townhouse we bought. Anyway, we had some time to kill so we visited the local Cobalt dealership. I happened to ask what changes were expected in the R7 for 2018. He said that all of the big upgrades and changes in the 3, 5 and 7 were made in the 17' mo...
