Re: Unexpected upgrade.

I honestly would have cancelled and reordered if the change wasn't available for my build slot. Thank goodness I don't have to do that. The DI efficiency and 11.5 to 1 compression is going to make a huge difference in low end torque. Chopping off another 60+ lbs also helps. I get the 6.0L still bein...

Unexpected upgrade.

Great move VP.. Our R7 will be built with the new 6.2L platform all aluminum DI 380 engine. I didn't even realize an upgrade was in the works. Im the back of my mind, I was wondering why the original lower compression GM 6.0 was used to begin with. I currently own both the 6.0l in my truck, and the ...

Re: major service history of our boats...

I think your question has more to do with individual maintenance and how the engine outdrive components from Merc or VP are holding up. I don't think Cobalt Boats have any effect on engine or outdrive longevedy. I owned a Chap 233 Chaparral with a 5.0L Alpha for 13 seasons and 295 hours or freshwate...

Re: To Cover or Not to Cover?

Personally, I won't travel a mile without a cover. Just my anal tendencies I guess.
I'm not one who likes road grit coating my interior.

Re: Your first love

Chaparral Sunesta 233. I don't even have a pic of my first boat because of a crashed computer. I found her on an on line dating site called boatrader.com. I thought I would take a quick peak at her gunwales and transon while in the area. As I spoke to her father, I found out that she was recently di...

Re: What options do you wish you had specified...

My first and only boat was a 2002 Chaparral 233 Sunesta. I wasn't interested in taking the next step due of the demands of my business, so we enjoyed that boat up until last fall. Now, I have the time, and I made three unexpected moves that led to the new boat. One was asking my Chaparral/Cobalt dea...

Re: CS1 & CS3 on sale?

I don't think Cobalt has a choice here. The industry is moving towards outboards. Take a look at where the competition is going when developing new offerings.. Every day, 6,000 baby boomers are retiring. Some of them have money. They will be retiring where the weather is beautiful. Chances are it wi...

Re: CS1 & CS3 on sale?

As an older interview video from Cobalt says (directionally), we've made some mistakes, but we continue to focus on delivering a quality product... I boat in both salt and fresh water, and I feel the conditions and intended boat use differ quite a bit. To me, lake life includes running the lake, si...
