Re: 2024 Winter Pictures

That would be awesome! Seriously!
Any time from the first weekend in January to mid April!
We still need to get together and boat the Niagara River.

Re: 2024 Winter Pictures

A7, Great to hear from you too!
I've texted you a couple of times without response, so maybe you have changed your number?
Every time we board a SWA flight, I always take a peak into the flight deck to see if you're our pilot!
One of these times it has to be you!
Get that left seat yet?

Re: 2024 Winter Pictures

At 65 and semi retired..actually, dumping it all on my son for the winter may be more accurate LOL.._we run from winter as fast as we can. We leave the Buffalo NY area and spent January through mid April in the warm and beautiful Bonita Springs/Naples Florida area, and it would take an act from god ...

Re: New to me 2019 R7

My only regret.
Yes, the 6.2L is a superior engine for the boat. Yes, it's more efficient, lighter, quicker, faster, EZ drain, everything we should want, except it is a small block with that high revving tinny sound.. I hate it.
In a do-over, I go with the old school 8.2L.

Surprised you did not opt for Captain's call with that big block V8. Thoughts?
Still a small block A7, and the 6.2 doesn't make that 8.2L music with the CC.

LOL. No number 2 allowed. We’ll stop somewhere for that. Funny how when you have flushing toilet, everybody’s gotta pee.

Re: Holding Tank Size - R5

Do you guys pump out the waste tank yourself or does the marina do it? Is it just a single pump out, or is it refilled and then pumped out several times for cleaning? I noticed that your R5’s have a nifty little shelf on the port side of the head compartment. That space where your shelf is located ...

Re: So, where was your 2024 Cobalt built?

I find this topic very interesting for many reasons. How big is the market really for $150k-$300k boats? These things are getting more and more expensive every year and I question how attainable some of these models are for most boat buyers. 770 employees is a lot, especially when you consider thei...

Re: Adding tongue length to a trailer

My trailer is going to have 2 feet of tongue added and they suggested lifting the ball higher when putting it in the water, so I also bought an adjustable hitch that I can raise the ball 12 inches from where the flat tow position is. I just wish there was a slightly steeper ramp near here. Where I ...

Re: Adding tongue length to a trailer

On our prior Shorlandr trailer that came with our Chaparral, I extended the trailer tongue tube by 4'. I like to keep my truck out of the water. I just brought it to a trusted fab shop and they took care of the rest. Used it for 13 years with no issue. I made sure that our new Loadmaster trailer was...

Re: Winterization steps

I guess I'm not a serious as some. Too much clock building.. when you only need to tell the time. I've owned boats and other storable engines my entire life. Run some Stabil through the injectors/carb, winterize the outdrive, and park it. There is no need to run oil through the engine just to sit fo...

Re: Thinking of converting from Surge to EOH

They're going on everything I own. It's the collateral damage potential on a boat trailer that I'm not going to chance. Lots can get messed up with rubber hitting fenders hitting the boat... in a hurry. Looking at the build and weight of these things, I don't see that as a problem Let’s talk yesterd...

Re: Home Warranty

IMO. I've never bought a warranty on anything in my life. House, car...whatever. I look at the strip in Las Vegas from the Mandalay on down in total awe of its beauty and investment...and can guess with certainty that the odds always favor the casino, and Vegas was built on those challenging the odd...

Re: August 2023 Photos

We boat in Lake Erie, and the Niagara River which flows to the Falls. It's amazing how clean and clear the water is. No real need to even wash the boat when we retrieve, although I do it for the water spots. You can see a bottom that is aqua blue, and fish galore. Chautauqua Lake on the other hand, ...
