I am watching his series now and he gets results. Brought this up to a detailer friend of mine and he said never used auto wax on a gelcoat boat finish!
Seemed to work for Lee, what's everyone's thoughts on using Fire Glaze? I use Flagship, but curious about tr4ying this product.

Re: Quick release fender hanger locations
EE, this will change often based on who and where you tie up to. I have similar hangers and they are really handy, but I wouldn't assume any one position will be used. I have the 246 and there are plenty of options!
Re: R8
Quick question for the newer COBALT outboard group. Wouldn't it be more efficient for both weight and fuel to get a single 500hp or the 600hp Merc? Are they too heavy for a single transom fit?

Re: Temp Gauge quick question
Forgot to revisit this with those who helped out.
The previous impeller came apart and I changed it out. After removing the T-Stat I found the remains of the impeller vanes in the T-Stat and throughout the housing. Solved! Thanks

Re: 2000 246 Fuel Tank Access
Interested in what you find, please return to this with an update. I have a 246 but no issues with the fuel sending unit. I have replaced the high and low pressure fuel pump.

Do you mind sharing the Canadian company name or website? Looking at Seadek alternatives as well.

Easiest search result. Somebody may have used another with a better look than these though.

Re: 1st boat = Used boat. Need experienced opinions
My advice is to be patient and find the needle in the haystack. It took me 6 months and a 10 hour road trip to seal the deal on my 246 (boat #3). 2002 with 285 hours and zero cracks, tears, motor issues, ETC. They are out there, I promise it can be worth the wait especially if you have a budget in m...

Re: replacement for motorized stern light
Jake I called Innovative Lighting and they gave me the low down. Red to red with the fuse still in line, and black to black. The black with the silver stripe is the switch wire. Not real happy with the alternative to what I had. Once it's plugged in, it's on, switch or no switch. Some of these elect...

I will check the tstat, but this weekend the temp gauge never moved off of 100. This screams gauge or sender to me, but i'm not sure.

Re: replacement for motorized stern light
What was your solution to the motorized stern light? Some jack wagon broke mine off. I called Innovative Lighting and they said the motorized light has been discontinued. I purchased the manual 2'-4' telescoping light and the adapter. I haven't installed it yet? What did you come up with and has any...

Temp Gauge quick question
Last season the temp gauge read 160 during idle or no wake running. Under a load and running 120. Ambient water temp made no difference. Impeller is good (changed and checked) Before I go digging too deep, your thoughts I will check connections at the gauge terminal, then the gauge sending unit (on ...

Re: Mooring cover
I just purchased the Westland Sharkskin SD from I-boats. You can also go direct to Westland but I boats was a bit cheaper. Fabric is very different from my custom cover, lite weight but fit perfectly as long as you pay attention to the cover options.

Re: 246 bow rider big block/mercury
I found a Road King aluminum trailer at Lake Norman Marina (7500lbs axles) that fit the boat for $3800 new. It was a 2018 model they used to drop their test drive Cobalts.
I trailer daily, other than a cheap wiring harness (which I replaced) it does the job.
