Re: Bilge Heater

Any recommendations on a bilge heater. I have the quick drain system but starting to hear issues with it during hard freezes. In N. GA, doesn’t hit freezing often and boat stays on the lift. Don't you have the Volvo engine with closed cooling? I would be curious to hear about the issues with the qu...

Re: Winterization Question

Yes, that is all we do. I would make sure you drain the bilge afterwards and at least put some gas stabilizer in the tank.

Re: Winterization Question

Assuming you have a Volvo in your CS22, your engine always has antifreeze in it as they have a closed loop cooling system. Lake water gets cycled through a heat exchanger to cool the antifreeze (like air through a car radiator) but does not go through the block. No reason to do anything other than u...

Re: CS23 Boat with CS22 Trailer?

You should be able to make that trailer work. As others have said, get the bow stop adjusted so the tongue weight is good and then get longer bunks if needed. I would primarily worry about the two center bunks and have them stop at the notch on the transom where the outdrive mounts. The outboard mou...

Re: CS23 will not shift into gear.

I am pretty sure you have a cable operated shifter. Are you able to physically shift the control lever into forward and reverse, or is it stuck? If the shifter moves freely but the gears are not engaging, have you checked the fluid level in the drive?

Re: CS23 w/ VP 280 DP - enough power?

We have the 280 and DP drive in our CS23. It is more than enough power for the boat, partly because the CS23 is really not that heavy for its length. The only reason to get the V8, IMHO, is the noise and more relaxed cruising rpm. What do you mean more noise and relaxed cruising rpms? Dave The gen ...

Re: 226 vs newer cobalt

Just chiming in to say that we really like our CS23 but I can't say its fundamentally any "better" than your 226. It will have more technology, which can be good and bad. In response to @dustinm's comment above, the tower on the 2022 and newer folds lower than the earlier models. We can f...

Re: 2020 Gen 5 V6 block pressure zero

Are you seeing this in the 4-1 gauge? Has it ever read correctly? I’m not sure non evc Volvos actually transmit that info to the gauge.

Re: 2021 CS23 Spider Cracking GelCoat/Fiberglass

I had cracking under the tower on both sides as well as a crack under the rubrail and from one of the places the side of the swim platform attaches on our 2022 CS23. I noticed them all during the first wash and I was told they resulted from not perfectly fastening the hardware and/or drilling holes ...

Re: rough ride

Did you get trim tabs? If you trim all the way down it will likely make a huge difference, especially if you have a stern heavy load or no passengers in the bow.

Re: Height of Boat on Trailer with Tower folded down

What kind of trailer do you have? I am gonna say you will need at least an 9’ door if you plan to go in and out a lot. If it’s for winter storage, you can probably figure out a way to sneak it under an 8’ door, but you may need to deflate the tires and lower the tongue Jack all the way.

Re: Best boat fenders R8

Those look similiar. I have four of these in the 11.4 x 13.8 size. I just used a 12v inflator with a needle adapter to inflate. I have had them a few years and they haven’t changed color or degraded. I would be mad if they started to look like old balls…. https://www.amazon.com/X-Haibei-Mooring-Infl...

Glad to see the jokes in MN re the same as they are in TN. Buy the blue ones for an extra dose of humor...
