Repairing a cracked block
Does anyone know if you can repair a cracked block with JB weld?
I have a cracked block and I’m getting estimates around 8-10k to replace the engine. The boat cost 8k so not sure if I should double down so looking for alternatives.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for where to find one of these. My block cracked in the recent cold freeze.
Re: R5 v 220s
That’s good to know, I had the underpowered v6 240 engine too so I’m glad I was able to sell for just about what I paid and back in the market for an r5 now.
I think I’m going to test drive one this weekend, it’s a 2014 380 hp with under 200 hours priced at 86k

R5 v 220s
I just sold my 220s and was thinking about upgrading to the R5
What are the major changes/upgrades when you move to the r series boats compared to the 220’s.
It looks like better storage and more space but wondering what else to consider. Is it a smoother ride etc?

What kind of bearing is in there? Could that be where the leak is coming from? What about the boot that goes around the out drive?
Could that be the issue?

Slow leak in boat
I have a 1983 Cobalt 18 DV that I bought last fall. I have a slow leak coming in somewhere towards back of boat. When it sits overnight , the water can get kind of high I’m thinking I can stick the bilge pump back there and that might solve it Otherwise I think it might be the rubber boot around the...

1983 Cobalt 18'
I just purchased a restored Cobalt yesterday from someone up in Iowa. I left the boat in the water overnight and they said that there is water coming into the hull area right in the ski locker area. Enough to trigger the auto bilge pump to come on. I spoke to a couple mechanics who said it could be ...

2020, 220S Stereo Problems
I have had my boat for just over a year.
The stereo started acting up yesterday and stopped completely and started making some thumping noise.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm guessing it would be covered under warranty.

Waxing Boat By Hand
Is this recommended on a 220S or is it too much labor and just better to use a buffering machine?
Also, what kind of pads are recommended to buff and wax
