Re: DIY Re-matt of my 222 for $95 !

Hey Sam. Yes I cut all pieces with scissors, and they weren’t heavy duty scissors at all. I think I actually used a new pair of the $2 (or free) Harbor Freight scissors. I think I tried a straight edge and razor knife on one of the shorter pieces, and it was ok except for I was cutting on my garage ...

Re: DIY Re-matt of my 222 for $95 !

Here’s a screenshot from eBay showing at least 4 color options. (Can’t figure out how to post link). The seller is BoatCarpetSales out of Georgia. He has several other colors available also.
I’ll report back on heat on the feet.

Re: DIY Re-matt of my 222 for $95 !

Well BBP, you noticed. This 222 does not have the square storage in front of the stern seat. So technically I learned it’s a 212 even though the badge says 222. Cobalt did some weird stuff at the close of 2008 with model changes.

DIY Re-matt of my 222 for $95 !

I finally got the boat uncovered today before taking the grands to see fireworks and took a few pictures of my homemade carpet mat. My carpet backing was getting a bit hard and crumbly although I had been covering some of the loose backing with black silicone or Flexseal. Not liking to put the boat ...

Re: Removing safety labels

I keep old credit cards and used gift cards for scraping those sticky spots. Spray a little GooGone and scrape away.

Back again from Texas - 2008 Cobalt 222

Greetings from the Lone State. I’ve rejoined the forum after picking up my fourth Cobalt. Living on Lake Conroe for 17 years have had two 220’s, then bumped it up to 2008 272 some years back before falling into the bottomless pit of a 2011 Malibu 25LSV to tow my granddaughter through the big wake. S...

Full mooring cover for 232 or 242 ?

Hello from Texas. New to the forum but 4-time Cobalt owner currently with 2008 222. I have an as-new cover that was supposed to fit my 222 but it’s about 1.5-2 ft too long for my overall length of 23’7”. It’s a Westland Sharkskin 7 1/2 oz cover that covers the extended swim platform and has Bimini c...
