that is a smart ideal. the old manuals however are hard to read without zoom . lol2ridgebacks wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 4:34 pm Hopefully, Nauti.
I had mine printed and bound last week. I bought the boat as a third owner. No boat manual, no stern drive manual.

cobalt removed there owners manuals from there sight
I was on cobalt web yesterday and had the owners manual pulled up. I was getting bulb replacements for the boat. Found out that I needed the wiring diagrams back up today and they removed all manuals last night. I had them on a thumb, but found out the thumb went bad. Anyone know why they removed al...

wench rule of thumb?
I need a new wench on my trailer. I herd a couple of different rules on how to size it.
One was 3/4 of the boat weight, or 2/3 of the weight.
anyone have any ideas
thanx

Re: Cobalt Plaque
Yours are in better shape than Mine, and still love your boat. Its almost as old as mine. This one in the pic was starting to peel of and had to re-glue them.
Did you ever find a solution?

Re: 1972 I have Brakes
I agree about its worth. I will have a lot more into it before I'm done. This boat is the 191st 16' built. They only made 209, and 1972 was the first year that cobalt started selling there boats as a production model to the public. I know it's not worth much to many but I grew up on this style cobal...

Re: 1972 I have Brakes
The bearings and races should be no big deal, they are cheap and fairly easy to replace. What's your budget for trailer brakes? Do those backing plates for the electric drums come off easily? More modern trailers will have a standard flange and bolt-on backing plates, which gives you a lot of optio...

Re: 1972 I have Brakes
You Normally can get the bearings and races as a set from autozone or Napa. I'm sure you know the numbers are on the edge of the bearing and race. I don't think I ever paid over $25 for a bearing set. They sell them as a set. Is that a single axle trailer? How long is the boat? What do you tow it w...
