Re: A-Series Hydraulic Swim Platform Sensor

I'm not saying it isn't there, but I haven't seen such a critter on my 2012. That might suggest they were problematic.

Re: Looking for Long Block Merc V8 230, 305, 4 bbl

Welding cast is tough. Preheat/postheat, prep, etc. Not to mention access to get to the crack. Check your local shops to see if you can find one interested.

Re: Repairing a cracked block

I can tell you it's been done. Depends on where it is and how big it is. You can start by drilling a hole at both ends of the crack to stop spreading and then prep the crack as you see fit. I'm going to say the bigger your stones are to open it up to get the epoxy in, the higher your rate of success...

Yes. Runs off the trim motor I think. Or it could be the motor cover. Or they could all be together.

Re: Considering a 2011 a25

When you say the swim platform was “busted”, what is “busted”? You can’t just leave us hanging.

Re: Hydraulic swim platform issue on 2015 A25

Well, it sits on the transom and looks like a speaker. Have someone operate the platform while you look if needed. Then, I clip the connector.

Mine is disconnected. After reading this, I will be hooking it back up.

Re: Hydraulic swim platform issue on 2015 A25

I did not have an issue while on the water, but on the trailer. My platform was fully raised when I left the shed after winter storage. 80 miles later it was all the way down. It would not raise on the switch. Eventually, after checking fluid level and other things, I disconnected the lines to the r...

Re: Issues: gimbal, ecu, who knows….

No warning. 500 hrs on the motor and gimbal. If tue iac had a minimum mechanical opening that would set normal idle in neutral and you removed tue load of tue input to tye out drive, that would cause a significant increase in rpm.? I know electronically it is looking for an rpm. But, are they instal...

Re: Issues: gimbal, ecu, who knows….

No, no sucking sounds. Nothing is obvious or easy as a vacuum leak. There is an intermittent knocking. Not a rod or main knock, but something that Mike makes sense if the gimbal came apart on the input or output

Issues: gimbal, ecu, who knows….

Long story short, I broke down about 3 miles from the ramp. Had been running about 3400 rpm. Engine gained rpm similar to prop cavitation, I pulled back on the throttle, and the boat settled dead in the water. Would not crank. After a few minutes it would fire and the rpm would immediately increase ...
