2003 280hp 5.7l Stumbling at lower revs
Here are two symptoms of my boat's condition. When it is cold out, it takes a few cycles for the boat to stay running from dead cold...then it is OK. Probably three for four depending on how low the temp its. When warm outside it runs decently from dead cold. This is not really a big deal for me and...

Re: My new ride for the Motorcycle guys
Reviving an old thread and fulfilling an old photo request . Got the RD 400 I always wanted a Cdn spec 79' RD 400F. Daytona Special over the winter. It is in fantastic shape other than having a Blown motor. It is sitting beside a $950 1982 Seca 650 and a 1984 Honda VF500F. One day hopefully all thre...

New boat to Complement our Cobalt 226
Couldn't be happier with the 2003 Cobalt 226 we bought 4 years ago right around now. It has been very reliable, comfortable and does all we ask of it. Feels safe, fast , confidence inspiring and very well built, with a lot of attention to detail. We are on a Lake in Ontario that has varied condition...

Re: Looking for Rubber windshield bumper for COBALT 226
Thanks for the reply, The latch we have works decently, but that design does look better. What I am looking for is the rubber bumper that keeps the middle windshield from banging the left hand windshield if it gets opened with force. I'll try to post a photo from my phone of the missing bumper

Looking for Rubber windshield bumper for COBALT 226
My local dealer says they have no idea where to find the rubber bumper that mounts on the side of the centre windshield and prevents it from cracking the left side windshield should they make contact while in the open position. I'm assuming these have some other common application. Tips on sourcing ...

Re: My new ride for the Motorcycle guys
Just sold a car I have owned since 1983 and bought a couple of motorcycles to fill the space. A 2018 Yamaha WR 250R I hope to setup to travel down trails and dirt roads at under 60 mph and a 1984 Honda VF500f Interceptor to tweek and restore and have fun on. I quite like middle displacement bikes fr...

Re: My 226 Conked out and now lifeless
Turned out it wasn't the breaker at the back of the boat. Found a disconnected wire by the ignition switch. Back in business!

Re: My 226 Conked out and now lifeless
Thanks BBP. If this turns out to be the issue, is it indicative of some underlying problem, or just something that happens every 17 years?

My 226 Conked out and now lifeless
Was on the lake today. My 2002 226 with Volvo 5.7 power started normally, and then idled out of the bay for about 2 minutes. I then took it up to 3,000 RPM to plane out and it went dead. All electrical other than the blower and trim showed no signs of life. No click of the starter, nothing. The batt...

Water pump leaking
Hello, I have a question about my 5.7 Volvo GSI in my 226. I noticed a small dripping after a 20 minute run from the water pump that runs off the crankshaft pulley. I am assuming that any leak is abnormal. What does this pump do?, as of course there is a traditional auto style one running off the se...
