Re: storage locker pistons need replacing
I just replaced the gas springs on my 2007 240’s ski locker. The original gas springs were Attwood Springlift SL-36-50#, which are made for Attwood by Stabilus. They are 8x18 (8mm rod x 18mm cylinder) with 10 mm nylon ball mount ends. Extended length (center-to-center) is 17.2”, compressed length is...

Re: Cobalt 232 with lots of upgrades
What is the towed weight? I think I am around 6500 pounds with the 240, so you must be at or over 10,000 pounds?

Re: Here it goes again - 1999 Cobalt 292 Refresh
Looking good. That is sure one big honking boat.
I find our 240 a handful when launching or retrieving sometimes, especially if there is any kind of wind. Yours would be a whole other world of interesting...

Re: O Ring
I went to the o ring store, (thanks Titanium boy), and splurged on o rings, I spent a dollar and received 50pcs of 1/2"ID X 1/16"OD X 3/32" Shipping was $7, haven't installed yet but they sure look like the OEM O rings I keep one of these Harbor Freight O-Ring sets around. Don’t need...

Are those Southco slam latches? They make a locking version that would help with keeping things secure.

Re: O Ring
You could also try the Sierra 18-7165. Five O-rings for less than $5. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/sierra--18-7165-replacement-o-rings-5-pack--10519247 Even better would be to measure the diameter where the o-ring fits on the drain plug and then cross reference to one of the standard o-ring sizes....

Ours doesn’t see much poo. Mainly beer residue.
This thread seems to have a lot of potty talk?

Re: New owner messenger bag
It was kind of a journey to getting the bag. I had called Cobalt in Kansas about the bag and was tossed to a bunch of different people. Finally I reached a lady who gave me the part number, but said I had to order through the “local” dealer. I called the dealer and got a quote of about $35. I was su...

Re: How do I operate my head? 07 250
The sanipotty 2.5 gallon pump out is not the way to go. Stopping to pump out a 10 second job could be a daily thing if you use it. That’s one good beer piss. You are much better off with the kind you can dump out. This is going to sound disgusting, but I have found that I have only have to dump our...

Re: How do I operate my head? 07 250
Our 2007 240 has the same head as your 250. Our clean out deck fitting is located on the port side all the way to the bow, right next to the anchor locker. See page 98. https://cobaltboats.com/art/manuals/2007_250_OM.pdf Our head is a SaniPottie 964MSD. We do not have the macerator option, but you m...

I have a brand new bag. It looks identical to the one I’ve had since 2007. I am a happy camper.

Re: New owner messenger bag
This is my messenger bag from 2007. My messenger bag is considerably fuller than Okielaker’s bag. New owner messenger bag
When we bought our 240 in 2007, we received a nice black messenger bag with an embroidered Cobalt logo. Did anyone else ever get one of these? We were never sure whether it was the dealer or Cobalt themselves who had provided it. I have used it as the one stop shop where I keep the boat keys, regist...

Re: 1999 Cobalt 232 restoration
Installed a new JVC headunit. I'm using an external amp to power the speakers, so I opted for a mid-level headunit that does what i need. Along with new 12V outlets on the outside and the middle one is a dual fast charge USB plug along with voltage readout. All on the refinished mounting plate and ...
