Re: Which 220S?

I've written on this here on CS boats and can throw in a non-technical two cents. We ordered a CS22 with the Volvo 280 (at the recommendation of the sales crew) and she has plenty of grunt to pull skiers/tubes with the boat loaded for the day and gassed up. The power to weight ratio thing is real on...

Re: Thoughts on dark colors for bottom of boat

We ordered a black side/black bottom white boot stripe CS. We opted for the ceramic. We've had minor bumper rash twice from other peoples fenders at cove tie ups. Everything cleans/buffs out very easily each season. I drive a black truck as well. Seems like you buy into the extra cleaning for the lo...

Re: anyone have spy shots of the new CS series?

We cove anchor a lot on ours-main use really- and it "looks" like that flip up sun pad will be broken very quickly with the boat rocking on wakes coming through and people leaning on it/grabbing it going fore and aft to the swim deck and crossing boat to boat. Also, the pads meeting in the...

Re: anyone have spy shots of the new CS series?

I checked out the CS models at the show. We still love our 2021 CS's lines (especially the stern). Based on what I saw, "if" we were in the market for this size and price point again we would be right over at the Regal stand.

Re: CS23 Low Depth Alarm

I have a CS22. No low water alarm or setting on the stock dial depth gauge. It is accurate, I'll say that. Just reads current depth. We did the Garmin upgrade on our CS when we ordered it for added function. Salesman kept calling it a depthfinder/navigation unit, talked about how it scanned bottom, ...

Re: anyone have spy shots of the new CS series?

First new live shots and video of the updated CS23. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2024-cobalt-cs23-9155461/ As a CS owner I can say this thing has been value engineered and then some. Regal will eat their lunch at this size in the market. The interior padding and seam work has been VERY much simpl...

Re: anyone have spy shots of the new CS series?

Hate to hear this. We went with our CS for the sculpted lines and large stern set up. My guess is the hull will be grafted into the Malibu family look that the R4 has. Design by committee on their "entry level" boats. I've seen a few vids of the '24 CS interior and you can see the accounta...

Re: Top cobalt competition??

We recently lightly shopped <30ft Regals. Our dealership handles both Regal and Cobalt. Sales person commented that Regal had closed the gap for fit/finish/design with Cobalt, saying Cobalt has dropped and Regal elevated. We agree. Fit/finish/seating are right there. Regal has a drop step that's eas...

Re: CS22 in Rough Water

We have a CS22 on a large lake in Georgia. Optioned with 280 V6. She does fine in chop. Some weekends when the big cruisers are out I have to dig the stern in off plane with speed and trim to knock through sometimes 3/4 footers in their wakes, but it handles it all and we never get so much as spray ...

Re: 2021 CS23 Spider Cracking GelCoat/Fiberglass

Our CS22 had a series of hairline cracks at the tower base and bow cleats. Repaired by our dealer last Spring, and they are back again this Spring. Told they were superficial at the time. Not laying the boat up again in season esp. if the warranty is out. Dealer was quick to recognize them but slow ...

Re: Need Help with Name Short List for New CS22

Yes to the bad luck. I fault that very superstition to the demise of an Ensign partnership. Never could agree on a name. We sold our share and pretty sure there is still no name. I love that 911 Font! Whole thing looks awesome. Is that a CS22? Just asking cause from photos, I can’t tell if it’s act...

Re: Need Help with Name Short List for New CS22

Thank you! We're happy with it, and it's kind of cool people have picked up on the name and always use it-even at the dealer and service center. Seems like a lot of people don't name boats these days. I grew up in the NE on salt water and it was bad luck if you didn't.

Re: Need Help with Name Short List for New CS22

Just my opinion, but I like Bluetiful and Blue Fairway-assume that's a golf interest ref for you. We named ours Ghost because we ordered it on Halloween, the black hull and an inside joke between us. I went with the 911 font our sign gal was able to look up for us and we're really happy with the look.

Re: CS23 w/ VP 280 DP - enough power?

We have a 280 DP in a CS22. Plenty of grunt to pull a couple tubes with 4-5 on board. Power to weight ratio is really good on these and they cruise all day. It has surprised us with pretty lean gas use.
