Re: Old Member New Boat
Nice boat! Just curious… did you consider a R6 stern drive? Other than sportier, how is the ride in rough water? How was the ride in the R6 OB? I have a hard time choosing the right size so I’m curious how they compared in your mind. Thanks. I did not consider the R6 stern but I would if I went bac...

Re: Old Member New Boat
Finally circling back. Wish i could say i have been busy on my boat but unfortunately been all work and no play. A least 3 weeks since i have been out and do not see anything changing soon. Damn it! THE BOAT- I changed up from a 21 R6 outboard to this 23 R4 stern. They are very different boats in so...

Re: rough ride
On the positive, great boat. Bummer on the ride issues. Was surprised to see your post for my r6 out and my r4 stern drive really nicely. Many folks I took out on the r6 outboard commented on the smooth ride. ??? Could be too many configurations of boat types on one platform. I am really happy with ...

Re: Old Member New Boat
Couple more pics I found.... Appreciate the nice comments. 8.2 seems like it was a good call. Will post a detailed review and comparison to the R6. Also can touch on reasons I changed it up and different options I chose this go around. Really happy with the boat. Motor is great but still on break in...

Old Member New Boat
Hello all. Wanted to post a few pictures of my new boat. Have about 8 hours on it now. So far so great. 2023 R4 coming from 21 R6 outboard.

Re: Problems Loading on Trailer
Stbeaty- I had this same issue for a bit. Would have the boat against the bump stop and after pulling the boat out would look again and would be 2-4 inches off the stop. Would recommend trying to load your boat with the trailer about a foot farther out of the water than you currently are. Note when ...

Re: 2023 R6 OB - Discount Target?
Thanks R6Outboard. Much appreciate you tracking down the video. Formula v Cobalt is you had to do it again, do you feel cobalt has better value but both have top quality? In the models I was looking at... Formula 240 and 270, felt the interior design and features were very dated. Significant issue ...

Re: 2023 R6 OB - Discount Target?
chi- you are in the right place to get great info on these boats. Welcome. Think I can add to the conversation. I custom ordered a 21 r6 outboard. Went with the then newly designed 300 merc. over the 350 I6. Long and short...Think it's a better engine and cheaper. Weights less by like 70 lbs, has a...

Congrats on securing the boat. Love the look of your boat. She is a beaut. I know you will enjoy.
Re: Trailers
I agree with Snowman. It was him and Tuscany that recommend Loadmaster. I built a trailer very similar to Snowman and sounds like he did the same to Tuscany. If you can get one built before you need the boat, do it. I also would highly recommend them.

Re: Buying a new Cobalt boat
Sounds like the boat is a potential great find. About the tow rig. The 2018 raptor is rated for 6k or 8k max towing depending on cab size BUT. That said, I had a 2019 raptor and was under the impression it would tow 8k. The fine print says max towing on the crew cab is 5k. Only 8k with a weight dist...

2. sof-trac on the swim platform
3. underwater lights
and while we are at it.
4. swim platform lights.
5. wood trim
6. quilted pattern
