I like the color. I actually prefer a mainly white boat not that you have a choice when you buy used.
No registration stickers...was the boat actually new?

Re: New Batteries
I believe all the lead acid battery manufacturers use recycled lead. The last remaining US lead smelter was closed a decade ago. Yes..that is likely true. What I was pointing out is that some people claim the Sam's Club Duracell batteries are somehow worse than ones you buy from a battery shop beca...

Re: New Batteries
I use the Duracell 31 series AGM batteries from Sam's Club. They are Deka(East Penn) batteries. If you want the best battery, go with Odyssey. Optima used to be good until they moved manufacturing to Mexico. My friend used to buy Optimas by the pallet load for his business. When he started getting 2...

Re: Converting to EOH brakes
Not sure I fully understand the question but if its just pushing the caliper back in to replace the pads, it works fine with my BrakeRite. I haven't tried it yet with my Dexter. Of course you have the EOH that I don't have any experience with. Email Hydrastar. BTW, whenever I push in pistons when re...

Re: Thoughts on dark colors for bottom of boat
I would never own a dark color sided boat. Even one boat I had where dark blue went partially down the side got pretty faded and I had a cover that covered it when not using the boat!

I made a couple covers with side skirts. I attached them with snaps.

Re: R7 hesitates when shifting to reverse
Looks like Volvo introduced "silent shift" in 2019 so your boat won't have it. I have a 2019 R3 that was produced before "silent shift" was introduced, but I'm pretty sure my controls is "fly by wire". I think the 2018 models were was well. I believe "Silent Shift...

Re: DuoProp Align / Clocking
The theory is, you don't want them to line up at 12:00.Jimmy Buoy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 6:15 pm Maybe a silly question, but wouldn't they all look like the pic above if you rotate the counter rotating props and just stop when they line up??

Re: DuoProp Align / Clocking
I used to try to clock my props on my Volvo and then one time I forgot....there was no difference that I observed.
BTW, you try to clock them so that the props aren't at 12:00. What that really means is anyone's guess. Does it mean both blades at 12:00 or just the trailing edges at 12:00.

Re: R7 hesitates when shifting to reverse
Not sure on the drive being electric. It feels mechanical but ? Thanks for the advice on the fluid level and type. Then it likely is. You would know if it was electric since it would basically feel like no resistance when putting the boat in gear with the helm control. The Mercruiser on my 2017 R5 ...

Re: R7 hesitates when shifting to reverse
2018 R7 380 Volvo Hesitates sometimes when shifting to reverse. If I go slighlty further, then it engages right away. Forward engages normally. No other drive issues, all maintenance up to date. Any pointers? TIA In addition to the adjustment comment; Does your drive have electric shift? Have you c...
