Sounds pretty mellow. Been in the Straight of Georgia north of you with a small craft warning and in a 20' boat...was not fun and we headed back to shore after getting beat up after awhile.

Done what you are planning on doing a number of times going through the locks into Puget sound. You should have ZERO issues with the combo of tide and winds.

What viscosity oil does the manual suggest using? I would be surprised if it was 10W30 but I don't know what Volvo recommends these days. It's their own 10W-40 synthetic. I was wondering the same. Of course Super dangerous to be doing that on a non surf model.

Strap filter is the best for getting off stuck filters. Look at NADAGuides.com. When I bought my boat it was very close to that average price. You may get more with the new engine.
