Re: Blue Angels viewing for FL Panhandle Visitors
We're heading down there in a couple weeks but it looks like the museum is off limits without a military connection? Unfortunately that is currently the case. Since 2019, after the terrorist attack shooting, public access to the base has been limited. However, any DoD ID card holder active, retired...

Blue Angels viewing for FL Panhandle Visitors
Blue Angels practice schedule is out, so if you are coming down with your boats anytime this spring/summer you can get a great “personal” air show on your boat in the bays just south of NAS Pensacola. It’s a great bay with some sandy beach islands that are fun to explore as well. They normally take ...

Re: Cobalt versus Sea Ray
Coming out of my posting sabbatical just to chime in this ridiculousness. Sea Ray has some fine boats, especially larger cruisers, but it’s not a cobalt, especially in the bow rider category. Boated together frequently with a similar year and layout sea ray to my 07 232, his boat looked 15 years old...

Re: Early production 8.2L manifold replacement
I don't know much about that engine, but these guys have a decent reputation for being able to reflash engines like that: https://obd2allinone.com/mefituning.asp John Thanks, I will take a look. I have decided to stick with the OEM set up. I found a set of the elbows for a fraction of the cost outs...

Early production 8.2L manifold replacement
Have any of you had to change out the manifolds/collectors on the earlier series 8.2L. It’s the version with the tall three canister collectors prior to the “u-shape” single canister version. In the process of changing mine out and the parts quotes are insane. Easily 4x the cost of the manifolds/ris...

Re: Time to fess up
You can tell a formula boat from a mile away on the water. Sexy looking boats IMO. I like your choice here. Cobalt doesnt have a full cuddy option in the 30-33' space so understand moving away. BBP what do you mean you dont that its fast off the water? . BBP Translation….how FAR the swim platform i...

Re: Time to fess up
Congrats! Beautiful boat Honestly? If I were wanting a boat 30' and up with a full berth, Formula would also be where I'd look. Much more their wheelhouse than Cobalts. Where as Cobalt has much better options below 30'. Thanks! We gave some thought to a 323, definitely an option, but what was avail...

Last cruise on the 232 out to brunch, though we didn’t know it at the time.

Time to fess up
It’s my duty to report that over the last two months we sold our 232 and purchased a new to us Formula 310 FX5. We loved our Cobalt and still miss it, but we were looking for something bigger with cabin space that could accommodate an occasional overnight and twin engines in the 30-32ft/10k lbs. ran...

Re: April 2022 Pics
Noting too spectacular, but have been enjoying seeing all the spring pictures so figured I’d drop in a hello as well. Water in the open bay was pretty rough thanks to a stiff wind last time out, so stayed in the backwater and caught some boat up brunch.

Re: April 2022 Pics
Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota today. Sadly no Cobalts, but some pretty incredible boats on display. Lots with the new 600HP Merc OBs These new designs with the fold out sides all the way to the water line make me nervous. I know it’s been finely crafted and engineered, just not natural. Really coo...

1973 Sea Nymph Restoration
Not Cobalt related but you guys might get a kick out of it. Spent the spring refurbishing a 1973 Sea Nymph 12’ aluminum boat with my son. This will primarily be his, but I admit it’s fun to zip around in. I picked it up quite cheap off facebook marketplace and then got to work. Lots of sanding and w...

Re: Gas strut on pre 08 232 or 08 newer 242
After some calling around the final answer is 130lbs. If you have attwood struts on older models they labeled the strut with 30 lbs markings then cover that number with a sticker as they increase pressure, so inevitably the sticker wears out and you are left without an accurate marking showing lbs. ...

Re: New boat in saltwater slip
Not advisable without bottom paint. Even then you don’t want the drive in the water for that length of time. Checked any local listings, Facebook marketplace, or Craigslist type forums for private lifts that might be available?

Was a few miles up the road in Alabama but I saw some of this snow you guys talk about. Thankfully nothing stuck. Can’t say I don’t miss a good snow day, attempting to rocket down a hill like Clark Griswald with non-caloric silicon based kitchen lubricant on his disc! It’s touching 34-35 a few night...
