Re: WaterMade Boat Trailers
I've never heard of them either and LOTO is our home lake. I've been around a few aluminum trailers, and they have a place in saltwater. However, in freshwater a solid steel trailer will out perform and better support the hull. I feel alum. flex too much and actually had a triple axle float to the ...

Re: WaterMade Boat Trailers
Does anyone have any experience with WaterMade Boat trailers. They build custom trailers and are located near Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. They don't have near the lead times I'm hearing from some of the other manufactures discussed on the forum. I've never heard of them. Did you price t...

Re: Discounts being seen on New Cobalts
We purchased a left over 2022 R8 in April for just over 30% off Suggested Retail. The only negotiating we really did at that price was have a mooring cover thrown in, $2200 option I believe. At that time we were also considering a 2023 R6. The dealer was quoting 16% off Suggested Retail. I didn't ha...

Re: R8 cockpit cover
I have the same cover. I just looked at a couple of pictures of my boat and we have a similar gap though it does look like it sits a little bit tighter against the tower. Our boat is covered so we haven't had any issues. Not the prettiest option but what about putting some type of waterproof fabric ...

Photos of the boat!
Good morning all, I've been a member of the forum for a few years and really took advantage of the collective knowledge and experience of the members of this group while researching / searching for a boat this spring. I finally took a couple decent pics of the boat out on the water and wanted to sha...

Re: Advice on new R8 or R6
Thanks for all of the input each of you provided. It's truly appreciated. We decided to go with the R8. We've agreed on price and terms so we should be taking delivery in the next couple of weeks. I'll get pictures posted once it's officially ours. We took it for a sea trial Saturday morning and lov...

Re: Advice on new R8 or R6
What are the colors on the R8? That is somewhat important, for example before I bought my R5, I passed on a very nice 242 only because it was that maroon color that fades like crazy. The R8 has a black hull and side with a white or light gray stripe. The R6 is white with the light blue side. I have...

Re: Advice on new R8 or R6
I think I'd find look for better financing. What lakes will you be using? Is Futrell your dealer? Definitely exploring finance options with the dealer and with other lenders. We'll be using it on Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas and will eventually move it over to Lake Norfork in North Central Arkansas. ...

Re: Advice on new R8 or R6
We are still thinking about financing. I would definitely put more than 20% down. As mentioned above when I buy vehicles I typically look for the lowest price to purchase and then either refinance immediately or pay off early. I wish I could pay cash for the entire amount boat but that's not somethi...

Re: Advice on new R8 or R6
Great feedback and on-site already. I’ll try to attach the sheets from the dealer. To clarify on the towing, I’ll only be towing the boat about 120 miles once maybe twice a year. I have a newer Ram 1500 set up pretty decent for towing and have access a 3/4 if I need it. I definitely won’t be running...
