Re: R5 inspection

Looks like you already passed on this boat, but couple things to consider. First, I wouldn't go so far as to say this boat was neglected. Needs a new coat of bottom paint. It looks like the vast majority of boats I see that are kept in the water, and usually at a marina. Second, I don't see any zinc...

Re: R5 inspection

It does look like peeling bottom paint. I boat in the salt free Great Lakes, and MANY MANY boats have bottom paint. Just depends on what kind of boating you do. Keeping it in the water at a marina and bottom paint looks and works best. That being said, bottom paint does need to be redone periodicall...

Re: Battery Charger Location

I found some pics online in case I forget to get some pics of mine. Untitled.png The red arrow shows where they mounted mine on the floor of the engine compartment. You can see where this boat has one mounted behind and above the engine. Most pics I've seen that is where it is mounted. I think they ...

Mine sits left of the engine in the back. I will try to remember to take some pics when I get home.

Re: Brand New R8 - First Winterization

AsLan summed it up well, however, I know I read somewhere on here where someone contacted the manufacturer and they did not recommend running antifreeze through an engine with the EZ drain. Couple dealers wanted to run antifreeze through it "just to be safe." I'm glad I didn't listen to th...

Re: Need advice

Thanks everyone!! Here are some further clarifications to the excellent questions you raised... The lift is rated as 15K lbs and dock is about 30' long. I would be boating at a fairly large lake in midwest. Gets rough on busy weekends. Both boats have the swim platform and wakeboard tower. 232 has ...

Re: Winterization Gen 5 Volvo Penta

I replaced my barb fitting with a swivel head. Trident Marine 502-3838. I can’t find the part anymore though. Makes it very easy to spin on spin off Sounds like a much better setup. I'll look for that part. Thanks for the info! Did you end up changing your fittings? I am buying a r7 with 380 and I ...
