Re: VP trim fuse burning out
Can definitely be frustrating. First, the fuse box should be on the engine. That is where mine was. It was a 10amp fuse. Additional, you can take out the cotter pins and bolts and tie the motor up so you can trailer safely. You will need two people and good rope to tie it up. Hope this helps.

Re: VP trim fuse burning out
Yes but not really sure what the exact answer is. My mechanic spent a day trying to find the short but never found it. After all the probing it started working. He figures there must have been a short that got corrected form the probing. I still keep a bag of 10a fuese in the glovebox just in case.

Re: VP trim fuse burning out
Well after having mechanic try to replicate my issue, we still don’t know what the problem is. He spent two days solid looking for the issue but came up empty. Lucky for me I only had to pay for a new fuse and half hour of labor. Hoping to try it out this weekend now that the lake is back to normal ...

Re: VP trim fuse burning out
Have an update to my question. The 10 amp fuse is blowing upon activation even when nothing else is running. Tried a 15amp fuse and same issue. However, when I put in a 20amp fuse I was able to get it to work. Kind of nervous to run that all the time. Any recommendations on why the lower amp fuses b...

Re: VP trim fuse burning out
While I am not the original owner I have had the boat for 5 years and this is a new phenomenon. There have been no recent electrical changes and the 10amp fuse was confirmed by mechanic.

Re: VP trim fuse burning out
The fuse is a small red 10Amp blade in the fuse box on top of the motor. Since I start out in the down position it is failing when moving to the up position while planing off. Is there a way to test the relays or do you just replace them?

VP trim fuse burning out
I have a 5.0 liter v8 VP in my 2007 212 and the fuse for the trim keeps failing. It appears to only occur when to boat is on the water bearing driven for my mechanic cannot replicate the issue in the shop. On the trailer or at idler speed it functions fine but again during normal operation the fuse ...

Don’t forget to do a dry fit. It is worth the extra few dollars to make sure you get a great fit. I ended up doing two when I did mine.

Re: Prop Discussion
Picked up a bad ding on one of my props. F4 size. Any one know of a good place to buy a back set so I don’t lose down time during peak season to get repaired?

Re: Blue Sea Add a Battery
Great job! I did the same along with the onboard charger a few years ago. I used some of the old threads BB referred me too back then. Driller was helpful with the onboard charger. Haven’t had any issues. The setup works great! Which charger did you use? Did you wire it to both batteries? I used th...

Re: Radar Detectors
I used V1 for years and it saved me countless times. But then with all the false alarms, poor filtering, and avoidance systems on the front and back of everything now I just gave up on it. One of the drawbacks to the country reopening is I can't run 85 everywhere anymore! 😁 I have had passport and ...

Perhaps the Kill Switch is the culprit?
