Re: Considering a new R6
We have an R6 with a 350, no trim tabs. Boat on Lake Lanier in GA, which I would consider a busy lake. Peak days there's lots of chop, boat does well cruising <30mph. Faster then that the Captain starts to give me grief. Hope that helps.

Re: R6 Twin 8610 Garmin Panels
You will have to remove them from the rear unless there's an easy way to remove the dash piece that I'm not aware of. This pic is of mine, and as you can see, there's no bezels to remove to access any screws from the front.

Re: R6 Needs New Battery
I think since the maintainer wasn't working properly then it caused premature wear on the battery and that should be included under warranty. I would have thrown that out there just to see what their response was.

Re: Best way to clean the white letters on the Cobalt mooring cover
I like to use LA's Totally Awesome for my cover. I don't have the white letters, but that shouldn't make a difference. I like LA's because you can dilute it as far as you want. I do a 50/50 mix. You can get this from Dollar General and Home Depot. Pretty cheap too. Thanks, I'll try that! Do you thi...

Re: Chart plotter
Saw a poster on here who upgraded his dash to add a chart plotter. He also bought an engine module and the NMEA 2000 network and essentially used his chart plotter for speed and tach - the chart plotter was front and center and covered those two gauges.

Re: It's spring and I'm bored
I’m thinking about upgrading the speakers in my R5 this spring. The stock system has enough power but the JL’s are just a mid grade speaker and swapping out speakers would only take me an hour or so. My pseudo audiophile nature wants more, lol. . What are you thinking buddy? Lots of great options b...

Re: OK to keep outdrive trimmed up a little while on a lift
Yeah it's just the skeg. I was just concerned with corrosion (fresh water lake).

OK to keep outdrive trimmed up a little while on a lift
The slip that I lease came with a lift already. I noticed that when the lift is 100% up and the boat is out of the water, a very small portion of the outdrive is in the water. I've been trimming up the outdrive slightly (maybe 2 degrees) to get this portion out. I'm curious if I should just go ahead...

Re: CS 22 Boat Lift
Looks like you may be at Port Royale - hello neighbor! Hey there. Yep. Been there two seasons now and very happy with it. I never thought I'd be a marina guy but after we gave up trying to buy a lake house in the crazy market this is the way to go. I don't miss trailering every time we take her out...

Re: R6 bow filler cushion
Apparently not. I wish it did! That’s a big screwup on Cobalt! One more thing to blame on Malibu. Who wants to relax without being able to out their legs up and recline? Or al least have the option too. I guess I’ll just have to keep my old R5! :D I sat in the bow of an R6 and the problem with the ...

Re: Cooler options for R6 surf?
Yeti just recalled all soft coolers and products that use magnets. Once I get my $$$ gift card, I think I am going to buy a 45 tundra Got my eyes on a 40 roadie with my recall $$$ - I'm hoping it's a little more "boat friendly" than my Tundra 45. Would the wheels and handle scratch up the...
