Re: So, where was your 2024 Cobalt built?
I find this topic very interesting for many reasons. How big is the market really for $150k-$300k boats? These things are getting more and more expensive every year and I question how attainable some of these models are for most boat buyers. 770 employees is a lot, especially when you consider their...

I haven't tried that yet. I just might have to now! Haha.Krob1114 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 9:09 amBut, when we turn of the engine and just drift in the wind and listen to music, we're going much faster. LOLlghtspeedz wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 8:49 pm
Plus all the freeboard on these R series makes them more susceptible to side winds.

Re: Finally - New to Me R7
Gorgeous color combination. I love the fixed arch on ours. Going from a Bimini previously with straps clipped that would vibrate when at speed to this is a game changer. It also seems to provide a small amount of shade from the side which my wife likes. The only draw back is docking with a wind. I ...

Re: Finally - New to Me R7
Great find and worth the wait. I've seen a few of those arches on our lake and didn't realize that they were a fixed arch. Thanks Krob! It is an interesting arch. It's very striking in person, in a good way. Fortunately, I have-not encountered many instances where I think the fixed height will be a...

Re: 2 questions on lighting
I think this has been asked before, but the search bar is not my friend- Has anyone changed the interior lights on an R3/5/7? I have the courtesy lights, but would really prefer them to be red, not night-vision destroying white. I think I remember a thread where someone talked about it. I know it w...

Re: Finally - New to Me R7
Thanks everyone! We had our first ride as a family this evening. Nice, calm evening on Lake George. I love that boat. Rock solid and easy to drive. It’s just so much comfier and more relaxing than I’m used to. There’s lots of little thoughtful touches to it as well. Is it spring 2024 yet? We feel ve...

Finally - New to Me R7
Thanks to everyone on this site for their advice and insight. The paperwork is all done so now I can officially say that after all my hand wringing I ended up with a 2015 R7. It’s pretty loaded with the V8-380, Fixed Arch, Windlass, Porcelain Head, Premium Sound, and Tech/Touch Screen package among ...

Re: Anyone move from a R3 to R4 or R5 to R6?
I was in the same boat. Had a crownline e22. A 2021 R5 with low hours and good options showed up at the local dealer in July. Gave me good trade in and was willing to deal on price. Got him to kick in warm storage and winterization. We like the e22 but the R5 is a major step up. It's our forever bo...

Re: Old Member New Boat
Nice boat! Just curious… did you consider a R6 stern drive? Other than sportier, how is the ride in rough water? How was the ride in the R6 OB?
I have a hard time choosing the right size so I’m curious how they compared in your mind.

Re: Anyone move from a R3 to R4 or R5 to R6?
I absolutely hate my new R4. Hate it! Traded in CS23 surf and it was a huge mistake. The new R4 takes on water in the tanks in the dock and while running unless you close the valve. But it also holds water on the left side and lists 6 inches or more. Therefore the right side wave is horrid for my s...

Re: Purchasing Discounts
This is an interesting video about the current state of the boat market. I think the premium prices for used boats is starting to change. It seems to be mimicking the auto market. Used supply has increased so prices are dropping. New availability is still tighter, but manufacturing costs are also st...

Re: Bought My 2nd Cobalt
Sounds great. I’m definitely intrigued. Got some thinking to do. I’m happy for you though. It’s awesome when you make a purchase like this and you’re nothing but pumped. It’s gonna be a long winter for you while you wait! We got our first snow in Upstate New York with more on the way at the end of t...

Re: Bought My 2nd Cobalt
Well folks....super happy with my new purchase. I bought a 2016 R7 and I am having a Loadmaster trailer built for it. Can't wait to pick it up in April and bring it back to Ohio once the trailer is available. My first updates are going to be adding JL M6 7.7 tower speakers, a typhoon samson rack, a...

Re: Anyone Ordered a New R Series Lately?
I'm in a Stingray 225LR, so it's light and quick but not the smoothest of rides. The R6 was impressive, even with the 350hp. It had the Arch Tower with Rotating Sunshade, which I think adds some weight. I hit 51mph and it cruised pretty comfortably at 30 mph. I was planning to upgrade to the 380hp t...
