Re: No Oil Pressure(?)

Scratching my head to understand how your insurance gifted you a new engine since it wasn't winterized.

I couldn't imagine my insurance rates if I cooked two engines for simply not winterizing.

Re: Suggestion on trim tabs for 2005 282

Suggest electric from Lenco or Bennett. Just get ones large enough to have an effect. We have the "smallish" 150S K-planes on our 360 and unless I drop them nearly all the way down, I can hardly tell they're there. Good for out-of-the hole and levelling an offset loading, but really don't ...

Re: Share your move from bowrider to cruiser experience

Genset = generator. The 323 is a much different boating experience compared to an R5. I don't know your situation, but unless you have the 3/4 ton or above truck to pull the 15k lbs. 323 around, you'd be best to keep it at a marina for easy launching. Downside is it may limit your range to visit oth...

Re: Warranty Work- Candlewood East Marina

Great outcome!

Boats by George, as I've heard, is a top-tier, high-volume dealer that takes care of the Cobalt family members. Sounds like you can attest to the same.

Sounds like a "should have purchased through us" reply. Check with Cobalt customer service to get direction.

Re: Cover for my 2006 240

Ask around the marina for a local canvas shop. They can custom make a cover to fit your boat.

Congrats! Love this model... walk-thru transom and extended swim platform make it feel like a much larger boat.

Re: Winterization steps

Do you have engine block drains? Located on each side of the block below the heads. Open & rod these out as well.

Oh.... and it's WAAAY too early to start these discussions!!! :D :D

Cobalt 262 Covers 2 Available

Not mine, but thought some 262 owners could inquire about fitment for their boat.

Re: Who owns a 343?

Realistically, a 343 with 496HO's should be in the upper 60's range. My 2006 with 525's and the factory speed top would do low 70's.

The dream-o-meter speedo "could" possibly show 70 on the gauge. Work a deal that nets you $10k off for every WOT mph under 70!!

Re: Retired Service Manager for a large Cobalt Dealer

As a retired service manager of a long time Cobalt dealer hopefully I can bring some of my knowledge to the page and help some people with their Cobalts. Welcome! Looking for some advice on 3 different boats. You mentioned you like the 296. I am looking at a 2015 296 w/twin Volvo 300 HP asking $150...
