What I don't get about the outboards is that it takes all of the swim platform. I mean, for a fishing boat sure but a runabout? I think the idea for the OB boats is to tap into the saltwater market. It will do 65mph. I ran a 2023 w/twin merc 300hp.

Any 343 out there that has had their transom shields replaced? I heard that they have to be replaced every 10 years. Is this fact or fiction? Is it based upon hours or age of boat. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Has anyone purchased New lately? What are people seeing as far as discounts? I know margins are between 25 to 35%, so I’m looking aggressively.

I’ve learned never to fall in love with a car or boat! I’m always ready to walk if I can get a great deal.

I’m going to look at an R8 today in Naples, Fl while vacationing. It’s got twin verados 300. Personally I don’t like the hardtop, I don’t need to electric captain chair. I’d never use it. The discount is less than 10%. I’d push for 20 to 25%. Open to comments.
