thanks for the responses.....I just found it hard to believe that oil could increase/decrease in temp by 80 degrees in a matter of 3-5 minutes...

I have a 2017 Cobalt R5 with a VP 380, the oil TEMP holds around 180 when at 1250 RPM's but when at or above 3000 RPM's it spikes to 250 (within minutes).
