Re: Volvo Flush Connection - forgot to put cap on

Good piece of advice, billk2632. I had the alarm save me last summer. Boat full of people, loaded and pulling away from the dock. Alarm went off, and it said it was for high temperature (wasn't much above 180*). Shut her down ASAP, and found I needed a new impeller (only 20 hours on the previous, p...

Re: Towing an R5 Arch Down

Samson, who make the arches for Cobalt, told me that they do not recommend towing with the arch down. YMMV.

Re: Arc electric wake boat

They have fast chargers at this dealers dock. Yeah, if you're gonna sell them, you gotta be able to charge them. It's inevitable that this happens over time. Honestly, I'd love to have an electric boat. Quiet and powerful, tons of interior storage space, etc. - Mark, not a Captain's Call guy, obvio...

Arc electric wake boat

Electric boats are coming. This is pretty impressive on paper. https://arcboats.com/arc-sport Charging is going to be a pain for the time being. No DC fast chargers at marinas right now and on-road chargers are very rarely set up to accommodate a trailer. Still, though, I bet this thing is amazing a...

Call Cobalt and ask them for the trailer specifications sheet for your hull. It will have every dimension you can think of on it.

That is a really great idea.

Re: Add a stock Arch to a 2019 R7

I had Samson make the stock Cobalt Dagger tower for my 2013 A25 a few years back. They did a phenomenal job. I am in the SF Bay Area and Samson is outside Portland, OR, so I hauled the boat up there and had them install it as well. No Cobalt dealer near me would touch a tower install for liability r...

Re: Red Flags

The flags are pretty common around here (California).

And I HATE it when another boat follows in my wake when I am towing someone (boarder, tube, etc). So dangerous, so unnecessary.

Re: Thinking of converting from Surge to EOH

Let’s talk yesterday… I own a 2001 26' Classic race car trailer that I bought new. It has some miles towing a lot of weight. It came with Canadian made Good Year Marathon tires. They are still on that trailer today. Granted, if I ever tow with it on another long mile run, I'll be mounting 16" ...

Re: Thinking of converting from Surge to EOH

I know there are a few that are at the top, like the GY Endurance, but I'm still not trusting a ST tire. My experience with the GY Endurance is excellent so far. The current set has about 7K miles on them and they tow great. It's very telling that they are speed-rated to 87 mph. 👍 I feel your pain ...

+1 to "no perceptible delay" with EOH brakes.

No way in hell would I go back to surge brakes. What a huge upgrade.

Re: Flip out bow seat hinge

To close on this, I ended up removing a few of the screw and flattening out the hinge carefully with a rubber mallet. It's back to working more or less correctly again.
