I'll be checking it out this weekend. This is the first I've heard of it. I'll try taking notes.

A 25' sundeck with an outboard? I could not have predicted that. Apparently it starts around $100k msrp, and comes with a Mercury Verado or Yamaha in 250-350hp options.

That's different how they have the swim platform and the outboard mounted.

My brother works at mercury marine and they are making alot more outboards than i/o right now. He thinks this is the way of the future. They are also working on diesels. Tons of torque and better fuel mileage.

The interior looks exactly like the 24SD. Talking to the dealer he seems to think the new CS3 will end up with an outboard option as well. They changed that design to have the option of the dual walk through or the single walk through with the seat configuration of the 24SD in the cockpit with the flip backrest in the passenger seat.

Cobalt's page is up at :

I can see the allure of being able to change engines more easily (bigblock, do they make V8 outboards?), and this does seem to be a trend. I can't say I prefer it yet, but it's good to see Cobalt getting in on the action early.

Mercury is a inline 6cyl up to 400hp. Not sure if you will ever see a Marine seven engine on one but you never know. They are only $90k just for the engine.lol Cadillac ctsv 6.2 supercharged v8

I was unaware of Seven Marine. Checked out their website, and they show a boat with four outboards, each a supercharged 6.2L smallblock, on one boat!

I spoke with the West Coast Cobalt Rep a couple of weeks ago at the Sacramento Boat show and he said the SC 23 And 30 are the next to be out fitted with OB's. I wonder what they will spec for the 30??
