Tusc where do you live? Why don't you just go get that sucker?. Make a road trip out of it and make the dealer adjust on your end.

Thanks.
Yeah, it crossed my mind.
I live near Buffalo. 2100 mile trip. Yuck...

I want it protected from America's highway debris, transported on a solid deck, and I don't want to be responsible if something happens to the boat on a boat trailer that rides a couple feet above the highway.
I'm hoping for the best, and hope to see it before the 4th.. :x

Also, I guess Cobalt is 800 boats ahead of last years numbers. I find that hard to believe, but possible I guess. So much for America's stagnant economy...
My dealer also told me that Cobalt has cancelled all dealer stock builds until the orders like mine are filled.
Good for the company!

Still doesn't explain why I got pushed back so far. My order was in relatively early.

I'm sorry to hear that. Our summer isn't long enough to wait that long.
I'd mention to your dealer that the delay is impacting family plans. Have them give you a loaner for the 4th if it isn't there yet.
Or even for this weekend... just a thought.

Just got a call from my dealer. I brought my trailer to the marina. The trucking company will be here tonight with the boat.
Hopefully, I'll have some pictures tomorrow.

Actually the weather around here has just plain stunk. Today was like October. Rain all weekend. Wind, 53 degrees today... Yeah, no rush...

It's at the marina right now being prepped. I might be able to pick it up as soon as today, but probably tomorrow.
One option did not make it. The EZ fold Bimini came through as standard because of lack of parts. Cobalt has removed that option from their website.
I'm a little bummed, but Cobalt did say that this can be dealer installed when parts are in inventory.
I'm putting up a building in August, so with a little luck, it will fit in the 9 1/2' doors we've speced.

Rain? That's all it seems to do is rain around here. Next week does look great though!

Tuscany, we just went through measuring our Bimini height at the rental storage we use. The Bimini that came with our boat was 9'1" in the stored position measured from the concrete floor. We ended up in a taller unit because of this. Ours is certainly not easy to fold all the way down. The reason I mention this is we had a metal building put up about 10 years ago for our boat & travel trailer. We had them install 14' doors instead of 12' thinking we might get a motorhome at some point. 2 years ago we did get the MH which is about 13' high. This involved getting the building 2' higher but it only added about $700 to total costs at the time of construction.

Forgive me for offering advice you did not ask for but might be something to look at. You never know what your next boat will look like!

Please post pics of your new one. I think the R series boats are gorgeous!

Good luck

Thanks dub, I am ALWAYS open to opinion and appreciate anyone's input.
Instead of going through my dealer and waiting for an answer, I called Cobalt. They claim that they will be sending out the proper hardware once they have stock to refit the Bimini at the dealer level. I told him that I'm not interested in some "dude" cutting into my boat, but he assured me that the install is simple and doesn't require cutting.
Anyway, I am expecting the Bimini to be done before the building is up. Morton Buildings will be constructing it. 36' x 45' with 11' eaves and 9'6" doors. Should be plenty of height with the proper Bimini hardware.

Here is a quick snap shot I took. Once I get it, I'll post some decent pics.
