Part of our difficulty is that our site now shows up on site rankings, so people think it's worthwhile to spend time here manually spamming the board (we always had pretty good protection against spam bots). Reaching a critical mass is apparently a mixed blessing...

I think I agree with you before limit first time posts. What a pain.

Missed this too. Sheesh. We don't say thank you enough John, every other Cobalt site sucked before you created this one.

I am pretty tech savvy and if you need a general I'm here for you. Happy to mod. I'm sure the same of BB (we just have to send him a laptop, although he is probably more proficient on that phone than I am at the pentagon).

If we get too busy I think that will be a good idea. For now, I just have to check daily and spend a few minutes cleaning up when a Russian spammer jumps on.

Just yell John when you need help. I'm never logged off.lol So I check it often just to see if anything new is going on. It's good to see it staying active. Thanks again for your support :-)

John, thank you again for everything you do here. What can we do as members to help you? This site has proven many times to be a valuable resource of information, as well as getting to know like-minded Cobalt owners all over the country. If there is anything we can do to help, i'm in! If you need moderators for sections, threads or categories, I'm sure several of us will be willing to jump in to help you. Just say the word..

My goal was to put good systems in place that mostly ran themselves, and the ads pay for the hosting. In a nutshell, if you don't use an ad-blocker or turn it off for this site, I think this will be pretty easy to keep going.

We get maybe one spam problem every couple weeks with our new countermeasures, so will probably stick with using the report button for now. I want to keep it easy to sign up and get going, but there's one more trick I can install if things start to get too bad.

If we grow by 5x this summer, which is possible, we may add a moderator or two who can ban people and delete posts.

Sounds good buddy. I like your thinking with 5x growth too!
