New owners '95 220 - North Carolina

Post by LKN_blue »

Hello,

We're first time power boat owners in NC. We came across this nice 1995 Cobalt 220 VP 5.7 GI-DP with a nearly new (3 years old/35 hours since new) motor, stored indoors and in need of a lot of cleanup/system updates (stereo, props, etc.). We've cleaned her up, refinished the teak ski hatch, and added Garmin GPS/sonar, Fusion stereo, second battery with switch, new J7 props, digital trim gauge (old analog one was inop), caught up all the routine maintenance, etc. There's more to do but really enjoying Lake Norman and this great boat. Happy to have found this board, too.

I think they was 35 hours on a new 3 year old engine. Not the boat?

Correct. There were about 1000 hours on the meter when the engine was replaced.

Welcome to our group. Looks like you've done a lot of really good updates.
Did you do the work yourself or send it out?
There are some other members here from Lake Norman also.

Finished first round of helm upgrades and renovations. Garmin 73sv with UHD54 sonar transducer, VP digital trim gauge , Gussi wheel, VDO chrome gauge bezels. The Garmin is a game changer on a boat of this age - besides navigation we get cool stuff like anchor drift alarm and 3D sonar.
