Crownline

Post by Big Block Power »

So some of us come from the Crownline brand over to Cobalt.
I just built a 220s yea it's not cheap but I added everything pretty much.
But really you could have a nice boat for $91k msrp.
The interesting thing is you can't get a Volvo!
But you can get Captain's Call👍
Their standard equipment is pretty nice though. Wet sounds is standard. 7 inch Garmin is standard.
I would have to get on one to see how they have changed since I owned one. I know we liked the storage better on it then what we have now.
Yes and that includes the Heritage trailer from the factory. Interesting.

Before we purchased our R5 my wife and I looked at a 29’ Crownline, a 26’ Chaparral and a 26’ Sea Ray. At the time we had a 21’ Sea Ray. I would say the fit and finish of the Crownline was on par with the Sea Ray but behind the Chaparral and the Cobalt being better than all of them. I noticed a lot more plastic and unfinished edges and corners in the Crownline and Sea Ray. I really liked the Chaparral, the Chap had some really nice features and maybe even had more storage areas than our R5. The thing that sold us on the Cobalt over the Chap was the Cobalt had the biggest engine and the best stock radio of all of them for the same money as the Chap. The Crownline was the biggest boat LOA of all 4 but priced the same. Our Sea Ray 210 SEL had a 350 mag 300hp bravo 3 with DTS, it was a unicorn... The Crownline only had a 320 Merc and the the Chap and the Sea Ray that we looked at had the same engine as our 210. I didn’t want a 300hp engine in a boat 5-8’ longer and hundreds of pounds heavier. I know that we could have ordered whatever engine and radio that we wanted in any of the models but we were shopping in the winter and getting winter pre boat show deals on all 4 of them. If we would have ordered we would have been paying more than what was in stock. At the time we got the best boat for the money with the Cobalt. AND the Cobalt will probably have the best resale out of all of them. Like what was said in another post any boat can get you out on the water to have fun!
