2020 R5 Surf Better wave on Port side vs Starboard

Post by Sierra »

I purchased a 2020 R5 Surf. We are getting a cleaner, crisper, deeper wave on the port side vs the starboard side. Is this user error or can I configure the ballast tanks and trim differently? I usually fill all 3 ballast tanks full and simply select surf left or right. Anyone else have this issue or a fix?

Thank You

The way the seating arrangement is on the R5 more people sit on the port side so there is more weight on that side so generally a better wave.

Hey Sierra. So glad you found us.

I've heard the surf wake is much improved on the new even series from Cobalt although that doesn't help you much.

Any pics of the difference from port to starboard on your R5?

And welcome aboard mate.
