New sub-forum

Post by jhnmdahl »

The new sub-forum will accept many types of attachments, but won't display previews of some types such as PDF that are difficult for forum software and web browsers to parse. I'm looking into improving that, but it seems unlikely to change any time soon.

Thanks to John for acting so quickly on my request.

Anybody have thoughts on how the sub-forum topics should be named or organized? Should it be by item and brand? Or should it be by boat type and year?

Should there be a master topic or sticky that lists the boats by year and model and then that links to the appropriate sub topic? For example the master topic or sticky would list a boat - let’s randomly pick a 2007 240 - and that boat listing would link to a page or topic that lists the various sub components such as dash gauges or fuel deck fill or hatch gas struts. And then the fuel deck fill listing would link to the actual technical documents, plus maybe pictures and links to repair/installation threads.

I’m just tossing ideas into the ether here.
