Longtime Boater 1st (new to me) Cobalt 323

Post by jwill323 »

Just sold my Sea Ray 280 BR and stepped up to this Cobalt 323! Like everyone else I can't wait for warmer weather. This site has already been a great resource for me and I knew I needed to join so I could see all the pics.

Very nice, I am a big fan of Cobalts with just the boot stripes and sport stripes. What year 323 is that?
Welcome aboard.

Its a 2007, 450 hrs on the twin 496 Mag HO's. Test drove it 2 weeks ago and rewinterized for the spring just finished the purchase. Going to be a tough few months waiting. I know I've got it bad when all i can think about is washing it!

IMO the 2007 model year is one of the better production years. We were able to use ours 4 times before putting it away for the winter. I have it stored in the shop and have been going through every inch of that boat cleaning, detailing, fixing, replacing, and admiring. I am sure you will get some nice days to get out and at least wash it. It was 38 here today and I was able to wash a couple of the cars.

So glad you found us jwill…. That’s a great model produced by Cobalt that year. You’re going to make some great memories on her.

Love the pics. Makes me want to get out there and help wash.

And welcome aboard mate.

That's the plan i have except w/o the luxury of the indoor storage. I spent several hours over the weekend going over every detail. There are a couple little latches and minor details to address. Pulled out the snap in carpet and will probably replace that over the winter. Going to do Seadek on the swim platform so had that templated. Pulled the props and having them rebalanced and refinished. I have a couple gauges with sun damage I'm working on sourcing. 2 big projects will be stereo upgrade and probably work on adding smart craft/vesselview display where the old Garmin GPS is. Other than that just cleaning, lubricating and getting all the screw heads aligned!

FYI, Faria Beede has a program on their website that allows you to send back gauges for repair. Do it fairly quickly, it took them 3 months to get my fuel gauge back from repair. Also, there was a person on FB that had their gauges returned back to them without being repaired due to age and not having the parts to make the repairs.
Indeed, the stereos in these boats are antiquated and definitely need to be upgraded.

Been getting a little work done during the winter. Seadek installed today and new carpets ordered from Corinthian Marine. Also got my lift upgraded to deal with the extra weight. Got some minor parts ordered as well. If anyone has the same pop out cabin filler cushion supports I have, I've figured out the solution to fixing them so they don't stay popped out all the time and whack your shins! Also been studying all my manuals to get up to speed on all the new gear.
