I just changed the bulb. It is just like this festoon bulb
OK, bulbs on order. I like these low-cost upgrades... there are certainly plenty of
not-low-cost upgrades. Thanks, BBP.

TG98, those interior lights are nice.. what are they?
Did you change your transom light yet. Courtesy lights? Ss cup holder lights.
All of the above are on my plate... just taking small bites. ;)

Where do you source the SS cup holder lights?

BBP, did you change out the fixture, or just the bulb? If just the bulb, do you have the specifics on what you purchased?
Likewise, if the fixture, which one did you install?

BBP, we hope to do a little night boating, mainly for the several fireworks shows we have over the bay and lake!

Thank you so much! Did these new lamps make a nice improvement in light output as compared to our OEM incandescent lamps?
Yes they make a huge diff
Can you give me the link to these exact lights or ones that would work? I have an 02 246 that I'm pretty sure take the M16 bulb, but I don't see any that look like they have a hole to Put the spring through.

The spring doesn't attach to the bulb... there is a keeper ring that fits over the bulb and
holds it in place, and that ring has the holes for the wire springs. The M-16 bulb just plugs
in to the socket, then you secure the keeper ring over the bulb (reverse of geting the bulb
out). Spring-hook insertion is tricky.

There's a youtube video of a Chapparal dock-light replacement, looks to be very similar...

the guy didn't un-hook the keeper ring in the video... said he pulled it out far enough to sliip
the old bulb out and put the new bulb in. That could over-stretch the springs, but it might
be an option.

So I want to replace the old halogen bulbs with LED. I have an 02 246. I'm not sure whether you access the bulbs from the outside or down in the anchor locker. I tried pulling the 8 screws off the outside stainless housing, 7 of them are not coming out, just spin and spin like they are stripped. So I opened the anchor locker and saw the tube that the bulbs are in. Is this the preferred method on this model? Would you just take that white casing off to access it from the rear?

It appears that there are nuts on the back side of your screws... I'm judging that from
your photo, so I could be mistaken. If that's the case, you would need to hold the nuts
(and make sure not to lose them) while backing out the screws. Looks like a 2-person
job. If you got 1 of the screws out, was it a machine-thread? That would indicate a nut
on the other side.

I definitely did not take the casing off from the inside, but maybe our mounts are different.
