226 lost all power

Post by Jwill »

Good morning gents, last night as I was pulling my boat into my slip I was trying to trim my drive all the way up when all of a sudden the whole boat just shut off. No power, nothing. Turn the key and nothing, at all. No electricity at all. Manually opened up the engine hatch and Hooke up a battery charger but that did not do anything. Kill switch not engaged, so that’s not the problem.

Is there a known gremlin in the throttle somewhere? All help is appreciated, thank you.

All circuit breakers are good. Turning key gets nothing at all. Batteries are good. Is there a main fuse box?

Sounds like the 50 Amp circuit breaker popped on your engine jwill.

Push it in. The question is why did it pop? May want to check wires going to starter. Something may have shorted

Aslan7, that worked! Thank you!

Quick question: so when this happened last night I was actually lifting the boat in my lift and had my girl trimming up the drive. Could this breaker have been tripped because she was just holding the trim button up even though the the drive had already reached its top? Almost like a safety shut off? Everything else has been flawless

I would think if you hold the trim button for an extended amount of time after the drive has reached it's full travel tripping this breaker would be normal. I might be wrong, but I would think once full travel is reached you are dead heading the pump. If this happens your pump would be drawing high current tripping the breaker/ fuse.
