Hi There,
I just discovered this site- a lot of good info here! I recently purchased this past June, a 2001 226 with the Volvo Penta DP/5.7 GXI set up, propped for high altitude (F4's). The boat is in very clean condition- Tahoe only use, with low hours and runs well. It is currently in storage, so I will post picks next Spring when I summarize her. I look forward to being a member.

Very nice pictures.I was hoping it was spring already.lol.
Is that lake Tahoe ? Is the water that low or does it change that much?
Clean boat. Does it jump out of the hole with f4? Oh welcome to the forum.

Nice photos! I've always liked two captain's chairs in a boat like that, and feel lucky to have grabbed a 210 before they were discontinued. I have the a later iteration of the Volvo Penta 5.7L as well, and it's a great fit for a boat that size.
Looking at your dock, it does seem like your dock is configured for quite a bit of water variation - something we don't see as much up here where docks get pulled out of the water every winter.

Re: New guy from Northern CA
Big Block and John,
Thanks for the kind welcome. BB- yes the 226 jumps out pretty well with the F4's considering I'm boating at 6200' in Lake Tahoe, even with a full load. I'm able to reach about 48 MPH trimmed correctly at about WOT- smaller props cost me about 5-6MPH at altitude. Couldn't afford the 8.1L this time around like you .
Unfortunately, we have had a pretty severe drought in California the past 4 years or so, that's why the Lake is 6' low. We need a big winter to fill it up again. And yes, our docks are built to stay all year around. Looking forward to Spring as well!

Hey welcome! That's a great boat you have. My father bought his new in 2000 and still has it now. I grew up on it for many summers and it has served us well. That's considered to be one of if not the fastest cobalt hulls made. Very highly desirable. Congratulations!
