Engine Caution

Post by AL Boater »

Thought I would pass on a maintenance experience. We have under 10 hours on the boat and last time out picked up an engine caution light and audio. Went through a few iterations of power down, restarts, and a trip to the fuel pump. Caution was intermittent rest of time out but eventually remained on. This was not a constant audio alarm, just the beep every 10-15 secs.Talked to the dealer and found out more about sensors on the engine. Dealer ended up running the codes and identified a bad "skin temp sensor" on one of the exhaust manifolds. Some of the sensors are known to fault during break in period. Good news is they were able to identify the code, sensor, confirm/repeat the faulty signal from bad sensor, replace the sensor, and verify normal operations.

Spent the day on the water today. No issues with the sensor.
