I think you got a great deal
I wouldn't sell mine for what you paid!

I know a guy that has owned a couple of car stereo stores for a long time, and they are known for having a warranty on any installation for as long as you own the car (or boat). They do a lot of boats and I asked about his best installer doing the stereo and lights inside and out, and man he did a nice job! I was pretty worried about drilling into the transom too, but they said he measured like three times before he started drilling.

As it turns out, my favorite two things are the rear lights and the swimdecks.

Welcome to the forum TR! Nice looking boat. I also don't like to drill holes in my boat... or deal with electric for that matter.

YT - I also see value a bit differently mostly because of what I do for a living as well.

BB is certainly the backbone here... which leads me to where the hell is John? John you ok pal? Haven't seen a post from you in a while!

Thanks liquid.....I know how you feel on do it yourself mods. Seems pretty risky for a guy like me.

YT...glad to know you wouldn't sell for that....though maybe I don't know it and my boat was previously trashed 😨

Damn YT that thing looks awesome!!!! I have been on the phone with sea deck twice and to no can do on the logo. If you can pass on where you got it done as a newbie to the board it would be great. I'm headed to T Or C NM then Lake Powell UT next. I bought a 01 246 in great shape and only 437 hours on the 7.4. I have about 30 questions for the group but I will just read for a while. Again great job

Not for mine, they had it in stock. They might have one for a 242.

If not you can buy a template kit, trace it out and send it in. I bought one thinking I'd do the whole boat instead of carpet, but I really like the bare floor. I can use Starbrite deck cleaner and a stiff longhandle brush and get it really clean easier than dealing with carpet or cushion. So I just stashed the template kit for another project.

Yea I'm still debating if I want this on my swim platform. Our water isn't the cleanest. But would look nice. I'll email them just to see if they have a 220 in stock. Thanks for the lead :-)

These pads wash up pretty easily and provide a lot more traction.

I have it on my walk through and had it on my other boats. But I don't keep boats long do worried about years out. Not sure why I'm worried about that either.

I have put 57 hours on since her maiden voyage and only have a couple of issues. I read somewhere once that the hour meter will run when the accessory switch is on for the stereo, but haven't looked close enough to see if this is true or not. I know we've burned thru several tanks of fuel so the hours may be actual, but 57 seems like a lot and we're only halfway through the season. Does anyone know anything about that?

Everything have been awesome, but the main thing I'm dealing with is the slow speed. Wot and trimmed out she only goes 39, but I suspect it might be the Chinese knockoff fuel pump I bought off of Ebay and installed awhile back. Sometimes at certain low RPM the high pressure pump will squeal unless I bump the throttle one way or the other, which makes me think at WOT it's not getting enough fuel. I've also noticed it runs faster and stronger in the morning when everything is cooler, and I again I read somewhere about the high pressure pump getting hot and vaporizing the fuel, thus a water cooling line from the manifold.

At any rate, you get what you pay for, so a new OEM pump is on its way, along with a new power steering pump. The seal on it leaks, and the bearings make a little noise sometimes. I've managed to get everything perfect on this boat and in "like new" condition, so both pumps will be replaced this week.

I'll post if there is a noticeable change in top speed and power. It's easy to look hard at a knockoff pump when they are $600 cheaper, and these Volvo Penta pumps don't have a very good reputation!

The last thing I want to report is the aftermarket sun shade we stumbled across. We had the 9 month old grandbaby for a week, and was worried about shade. We bought one of those triangle patio sunscreens with metal rings sewn into the apex of each corner. We put it over the bimini and hook the ring in the midships cleats, then pull it back and hook it into the ski ring. It's a perfect fit! I'll try to get a picture of it, but for anyone needing extra shade and easy access this thing works!

Very cool. From what I know the clock does not run in acc position.

My clock does run in the acc. Position. I plan on changing it that when I rewire the batteries.
