You may have a new style Perko with ACR .
Those can act as a isolated source should you kill the ol radio battery.
Using the “1-2 or Both” brings them together if you ever get in a pinch as you may have life in the other.

I bought a new marine charger and want to make sure and get the proper cables hooked to the right batteries. I do have the ACR.

Others will certainly chime in on this. I'm not sure it really matters (the ACR) if you have a two bank charger. You should be able to simply run the 2 sets of leads to the batteries and connect. I don't have the ACR, and have the Perko 9001E switch that Cmattj posted above. I like the simplicity of switching batteries over myself. My marina recommended against installing the ACR as they said you can never really isolate a battery, and the potential is there to fully run down both batteries and "could" run into a situation where you can't start the engine. I have not heard of that being an issue with anyone that has the ACR though. It meant saving $400 on the install though, so I'm happy with what I have. Please do some more checking from others with an onboard charger though. Would hate for there to be issues based on an assumption.

I have an ACR and run a circuit breaker between the onboard 2 bank charger and battery. Simply open the CB and the batteries are differently isolated.

I have heard people say you could run down both batteries but you'd have to have some messed up batteries for that to happen and with thousands/millions installed I've never heard of it happening.
