Seat. Fixing hardware

Post by 1almeida2 »

In the seat of the 2007 Cobalt 232, the fixing hardware for the two cushions is fixed by rivets.
I cannot move the top pad, even after using wd 40.
This is normal?
Instead of rivets, fixing should not be done by screws?
Thank you so much

Have same problem but a light machine oil like mystery oil is better then WD40 (protect the seats first)
Consider a SS/AL rivnut. Drill out the rivet install the rivnut and screw. You need a special rivnut tool.

Thanks for the answer.
Mystery oil is not available in Europe.
The ss/al rivnut option is good.

You can buy those hinges. Not sure if they will ship over seas but they are available on Google. I've replaced them before.
