fishing boat
What basic equipment do i need for a small fishing boat? I'm planning on buying a small fishing boat this weekend for fishing around the gower peninsula, and would like to know what are the basic bits of kit i need to get started? The boat itself is 15ft in length and comes with a 50hp outboard engine and trailer. Everything else i'm going to need to buy seperatly, except for the fishing tackle which i already own. Many thanks.

Re: fishing boat
Other than a Zebco and a worm I have no idea. But hey welcome.
A box anchor might come in handy. And gas.

Re: fishing boat
You will want a trolling motor and a nice fish finder/sonar

Re: fishing boat
After seeing where your referring to for fishing I would be wanting a powerful VHF radio and a flare gun.
Definitely hoping you’ll post some pics of your excursion.

Hey rabato. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum.
This is mainly a site for Cobalt boat enthusiasts. Cobalts are not really setup for fishing.
You may want to try another forum for that question.
Something you may find helpful though is the Fishing Spots app. It’s free and may be of use to you.

Feel free to stick around and welcome aboard mate. ..

Re: fishing boat
Offshore fishing is easier if you have a fish finder. I own deeper pro+ sonar fish finder and its definitely worth the money. Cheaper fish finders are also worth a try.

Hey Bf3r, welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!
Like Cmattj said, should it be R3?
That's a nice fish finder you got there. Do you use your Cobalt as a fishing platform? It is a rarity to see that Cobalt-fishing combo--especially if you are in the bill fish sporting category . Would love some pics if you got 'em.
Again, welcome aboard mate!

I promise you we love fishing pictures from your Cobalt. Hopefully you don't use you tower for a bait and tackle set up.
