2 hours run time, then 90 min to charge? Doesn't seem very practical for anyone I've ridden with. It can take 2 hours to get through 1 round of riders...

Yeah 2hrs of run time barely gets me 1/4th of the way across the lake and back. Plus the ACE is requiring all docks to convert to Solar on TRL so I am not sure they would allow you to hook up a supercharger to your slip. Plus they claim low maintenance but how can they claim that when its the new product? I'd hate to see how much that battery pack costs.

So with that all being said its a No for me as well.

What they really mean is zero maintenance. It's a battery pack and a motor with like one moving part.

I wouldn't worry about that stuff at all. Software is where the big issues will be for the foreseeable future.

Also, this thing is gonna be HEAVY.

There will be a nice bump in SeaTow memberships, though.

If the electric powered auto market continues to gain significant traction its only a matter of time before it becomes common place on boats. Run times will get longer, charge times will get shorter. Actually a solar powered dock with a charging station seems like a really good idea. Free gas.....

See there you go.....progress. 5 years from now Cobalt will offer a series E with enough torque to get you up on plane in 1 second. Top speeds of 85...lol. just dont smoke a pipe on your boat going that fast. Or maybe dont smoke a pipe on your boat at all.

It really is a beautiful boat. Love the look. Indeed it does look very relaxing. Pass me the pipe.

Oh, I was. I am a HUGE F1 fan, so this was like Christmas for me.

BTW, in that first photo, you can see a group of people down on the Boulevard taking a tour head of us. I found out afterwards that the dude in the light blue shirt was Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, the guy in the olive shirt was Fernando Alonso, and Emerson Fittipaldi was in the group as well.

The other tour I got to take that trip was Abbey Road studios. They don't do tours, so this was a private hookup. I sat at the piano that John Lennon wrote most of his songs on. It was epic.

Yes very cool. I was a bigger indy car guy myself but watched both. I was a huge Mario Andretti fan and Michael. John drove the corvette challenge for us back in the day. Cool stuff. Congrats. Yes also a dire Straits fan

My question is, in the snow belt how will those batteries last sitting in sub-zero temps for 6 months?

Also, Mark that tour of McLaren looks epic!
