Probably not the wisest investment from an economic standpoint. But I don’t care lol. It’s a game changer for us!!

Looks great! Color matches, too.

I’m thinking of doing mine, you’re motivation to go ahead.

It’s so much easier on my eyes in the bright sun. Comfortable to sit on too. I actually pulled a Marty Byrd and almost fell asleep on the back swim step, Wednesday afternoon !!

They installed it in the driveway. $1200 I think.

I like. I want to do the cockpit but just can't pull the trigger. I think the sun pad is being fixed this off season.

Looks great. You do have me thinking about Ozark...trying to remember the episode.

Awesome! Thinking of doing the the same colour for my Cobalt 282. Do the pieces come pre-cut or did you have to do all the hard work yourself?

I had it done.

They order templates for your make and model that come in a clear plastic paper - think overhead projector from when we were kids :) Then in my case, they came out to my house and used painter’s tape to tape the templates in place, and make minor corrections right on the paper with sharpies and scissors. Then they removed the modified templates, and sent them off to be made (I was emailed mock ups to approve before they sent them off to be made). A few weeks later they installed it in the driveway (in the sun so the fiberglass is warm) and that’s it!

It’s gotten dirty and does clean up nicely

What colour is that? Terra or Cool Gray? Looks great.

I have the same dilemma... Seadek just quoted me $3,500 for 6mm for my Cobalt 282

Really want something like it; Think I'm going to have to get myself very drunk before I order it...

Just for materials, or installed price?

Congratulations Homeskillet! Looks great! We also just had SeaDek installed in our 276 in the last few weeks, and agree that it’s a “game changer”. Soooo much nicer than the carpet that came with the boat when we bought it a few months ago!

That looks beautiful.

Having never been on a boat with SeaDek, what specifically about it is nicer than the carpet? Or is it juat that the carpet was very old?

The carpet was indeed getting old, and also tended to be hotter on the feet than SeaDek. Carpet would also tend to smell when wet, especially in humid Houston, TX. There is a cushiony feel to the SeaDek that’s nice to walk on, and I feel like the appearance after installation took a few years off of the boat’s age. After experiencing a similar decking on a friend’s new Regal, I decided the expense/payoff was there.

VTENGR - so sorry for the delay. I have not logged on here in a long time!

On my invoice, it says: "6mm brushed Terra/Chocolate, 3" Faux teak design" and it actually came to $1474. There was a shipping charge of $104 and and extra $50 to do the "Cobalt" logo on that small raised part of the back swim platform, and tax.

I agree with what TX777 said in terms of all the reasons SeaDek is nice to have. I would also add, it's so much easier I my eyes. That high sun on my clean white decks, was very hard on my eyeballs!

It took a while to talk ourselves into it, quite honestly. But in the end, our thinking was: A boat really isn't an investment. They cost so much, and we still spend the money on them. Why? Because we love being on the water several days a summer. There is no way we're going to recoup our investment of $1500 on a 2005 boat, right? BUT, it adds a LOT to our enjoyment - which is WHY we have a boat.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

TX777 - your SeaDek looks awesome! I didn't have the guts to put it down throughout. I still catch perch and gills for momma, and that makes a mess that needs to "cleaned, sterilized and disinfected!" when I come off the water! I know, I know... don't fish out of a Cobalt. I can't help it! I am who I am :)
