Hull Cleaner

The boat was in the water for a week and the grape smelly stuff won't take the stains off the bottom. Noticed an ad about Booyah cleaner - it is supposed to be a safer alternative than acid. Anyone have any experience with it or something similar that is not as toxic as acid?

Depends on the water it was in. I used lysol gel toilet bowl cleaner. It worked great on some lake stains. Otherwise I used hull cleaner.

I use oxalic acid(wood bleach). You can buy many pounds of the powder super cheap on eBay. You can experiment with the concentration. I put it in a garden sprayer. Make sure you rinse the boat and trailer well after use.

I used Lysol toilet bowl cleaner this Spring because we were out of the toilet bowl cleaner that I prefer. The Works. I think the latter was better.

On all my glass boats (mostly fishing but also on this current Cobalt) I sponge it on, let it sit, and boom… super bright white. Wear rubber gloves.

Thanks, I'll try the Lysol and see if it works. I have used Star Brite / acid before but didn't want to start with something that strong. The Booyah product seemed like the best of both worlds.
