Here are the Mercruiser and Volvo Penta O-Ring cross reference to nominal sized o-rings. These two pages are part of a 10 page GLM Marine document that also lists o-ring sizes for Mercury/Mariner/Force and Johnson/Evinrude. Oil seal shaft and bore sizes are also in the full pdf.

The GLM Marine pdf is attached here in case the GLM Marine web link gets broken in the future.

Once you have the nominal size of the o-ring, then you can find that o-rings AS568 “dash” number, which is a unique number that denotes specific O-ring dimensions.

I’ve found this full-size printable o-ring chart from Captain O-Ring to be very useful. CAUTION: Clicking on the link will start downloading a large 32 MB pdf file.

Be sure to print at "actual size" or "100% scale" and not "fit to page" or "shrink to page" in order to ensure that your document prints the o-ring sizes accurately. There is a 1" long calibration line at the bottom of the first page that you can measure with a ruler to confirm the page printed at actual size.

Below is a screen shot of only the first page of the 23 page chart.

Captain O-Ring also has cross reference charts for paintball, scuba, firearms, and air guns.

Good reference info. I've always liked buying a non-branded o-ring if I was sure of the size because it's such an absurd markup item for manufacturer parts. My favorite source is:

McMaster-Carr is a great place to get “jelly bean” parts like o-rings. My one beef is that their website doesnt provide reference material in a format that shows up well on CC.
