Parts Diagram

Post by Fast-n-Loud »

New member, picked up a 2012 242 WSS last year and starting to find a few stock parts that are worn out that need to be replaced but can't find anything that would give me part numbers. My old SeaRay had a diagram for everything! Does this exist for Cobalt?

Most of the rubber 'bump stops' are missing or torn. The small hatch for access to the battery switch has a rubber bumper that I need to replace and the two little rubber pieces that keep the reclining aft seat back from hitting the fiberglass also need to be replaced.

Hey FnL. So glad you found us my friend.
A parts diagram with parts numbers would be nice but I’m not aware of any. With your model being over 7 years old it will be difficult to source Cobalt specific parts from Cobalt. There is a lot of “boutique “ manufacturing where they use other manufacturers. You may want to try Greatlakesskipper and they may be able to help you out.

Any pics?

And welcome aboard mate!

Make sure you measure the width and height for the Aft lounge bumpers. The ones linked are way too small in my 242 for that, but work as the bumpers under the hatches. I just measured as I I needed to replace a few bumpers under the hatches, but I was also hoping to replace those on the Aft lounge as well. These work at the battery hatch, but I just got my order in from McMaster-Carr today. I am having trouble telling if the ones for the AFT lounge are the style 1 on this link or style 2 like the smaller bumpers, but please measure the size. I took a picture with that Part beside the aft lounge ones. They appear to measure out closer to the 21/32 x 1/4" high, but I am having trouble matching them up on the charts on the link below. I was going to try to do some more detailed measurements before I order those from McMaster-Carr. Unless someone has ordered them and knows the size already

I also attached a pic of the rubber catch/stopper on the back hatch if someone knows where to get that from as that is the one other piece, I am having trouble finding online as well.

Another favorite resource I use for that kind of thing is McMaster-Carr. See, for example,

Do you have one of these? They are invaluable for stuff like this. The HF calipers used to be available all day for $10 with the dearly missed HF coupons, but are still worth the $22.95 they are asking today.

I dug it out of my tool cabinet tonight and replaced the batteries. If its not raining tomorrow, I'll uncover the boat and see if I can get better measurements. The other problem I am up against is none of the bumpers are in great shape. All of them are squished and slightly deformed
