SeaDek on the way
I'm like a little kid prior to Christmas. Working with SeaDek on templates in preparation to order a full set for my boat. While the original owner was religious about covering the boat after use (kept on a lift in a slip at a marina), the water on the carpets couldn't evaporate quickly enough and rotted the rubber backing of the factory carpet. Can't wait to install the new flooring. I have a date set to buff out the exterior, perform a bunch of preventative maintenance tasks, then install the new SeaDek. Of course I'll take photos and post them. Anyone with SeaDek have any pre-order advice?

Hey there TwoD,
I looked into both SeaDek and GatorStep. I'm a DIYr and decided to go with GatorStep due to the ability to pull it up at least once during install. SeaDek suggested a contractor install. If a mistake is done during SeaDek install, it's tough to pull up and reapply properly (their words). I did make one error on my first install with GatorStep and it was very forgiving. That was 3 years ago and it still looks great. Either one is awesome and will make your Cobalt look fantastic. Congrats and do send pics when finished. I'm finishing the interior on mine with GatorStep this spring.

Thanks RWM250. I'll certainly post photos. Hey, why are the T56 engines upside down on the Herc?

Do send pics when completed. I have my flooring and waiting to install once the weather warms up. I'll send a pic of my interior afterwards. You gotta be Navy, TwoDuckDad.

Re: SeaDek on the way
Ya got me. Spent a lot of time in a P-3C Orion. I'm excited about getting the new decking. My second set of templates (dry fit) were perfect and my order has been placed. They're telling me about 3 weeks to ship.

Re: SeaDek on the way
I figured it was the P-3. Those crews always tell us our engines are upside down. How many years did you serve on those. I'm down to less than 2 yrs from retirement and 37 yrs. I'm ready. All my time has been in the Air Guard with the last 18 full-time.
The SeaDek will add so much to your boat. Value, great looks, and ease of cleaning will all make it so worth it. 3 weeks should be about perfect timing for install. Send pics when completed.

Thanks milkerson10 and TwoDuckDad. Has anyone accidentally hit the letter next to the D in your profile name Duck? Good thing I proof read this message and made the change.
