2011 210 Bimini rear stanchion
2011 210 Bimini rear stanchion
I have a new to me 2011 210. We have to rack store it which requires the Bimini to be laid down. The brackets for the rear stanchions leave scratches. I had one Cobalt owner tell me his came with a set of shorter 18” rear stanchions, but in calling Cobalt and several dealers, I’m told that’s not the case. I’m on the hunt to find a set of the (I believe 44”) rear stanchions so I can have them cut down and they’ll have the correct harder to work with the quick release hardware that already on the boat. Anyone know where I can find them? Thank you!

So glad you found us ebickle.
Unfortunately your Cobalt being over seven years old puts you at a parts disadvantage. Cobalt tends to not stock older pieces.
Have you tried Great Lakes Skipper ?
Any pics?
And welcome aboard mate.

So why don’t you ask your local Cobalt dealer to order you two rear bimini poles for a 2023 220S? Have those cut down.
When I added a Bimini to a previously owned 226, I simply asked my local Cobalt dealer to order the parts using the newest or within 7 years model. No hassle. A 220S would be the mule I would use to get the rear bimini support poles ordered…

That may not be as easy as it sounds... ^
My local Cobalt dealer requires the HIN# anytime I call them about Cobalt parts. The ONLY time they haven't, was when I recently called about the cover snaps. Those, they sold me no more questions asked. Any other part, they want my HIN to verify it's my boat, and within 7-10 years old, which I have slid under on some things lately. One could always scour marina's to see if there was another model the same as yours, and hope it was newer to get that HIN# to use for parts ordering, if your dealer is like mine is...

Shouldn’t make a difference, just explain that you need a extra set of rear Bimini support poles. My dealer was not a stickler for a HIN. They’re just stainless poles.
